Background: The lateral periodontal cyst is considered a developmental odontogenic cyst with unusual occurrence. In most cases it is preliminary diagnosed as a radiographic finding, presenting as well circumscribed or as a round or teardrop-shaped radiolucent area. Due to its location it can easily be misdiagnosed as a lesion of endodontic origin. Final diagnosis should be based on histopatological examination. The purpose of this paper is to report a classic case of lateral periodontal cyst located in the anterior region of mandible and to review the relevant literature which describes the clinical, radiological and histopathological features of lateral periodontal cysts.
Methods: A 50 years female patient complained of an asymptomatic gingival swelling in the region between the left mandibular lateral incisor and canine. Radiographic examination revealed a well circumscribed radiolucency with approximately 0.5 cm diameter with a radiopaque margin between the roots of the left mandibular lateral incisor and canine. The adjacent teeth had vital pulp.
Results: A total enucleation of the lesion was performed, and intraoperative examination showed a single lesion with no communication between the cyst's cavity and the oral environment. Histological examination revealed that the lesion was "lateral periodontal cyst of developmental origin". There was no recurrence or complications for 24 months follow-up.
Conclusions: The lateral periodontal cyst can be considered in the differential diagnosis when a radioloucent lesion appears adjacent to the roots of vital teeth. The treatment of choice is surgical removal and subsequent histological evaluation to confirm the diagnosis. Relapses are infrequent.

This case report introduced a new technique to manage buccal deep isolated recession with loss of keratinized tissue. This technique is indicated where there is a good amount of keratinized tissue lateral to the defect and deep vestibule. In this case report, a 27-year-old male patient was referred to a periodontal surgery clinic for the management of an 8 mm buccal recession with loss of keratinized tissue related to auto-transplanted maxillary molar that caused discomfort to the patient.

Background: Dens invaginatus is a developmental abnormality originating from tooth development, including coronal invaginatus and radicular invaginatus. The reported incidence varies greatly due to diagnostic techniques, classification criteria and race. The incidence of dens invaginatus in China was not clear, and the impact of dens invaginatus on periodontal support tissue were rarely reported.

Purpose: This study was aimed to compare the difference between iRoot SP and AH Plus on root canal sealing ability for teeth extracted due to severe periodontitis and explore whether the dentin tubule pathway plays an important role in the development of endodontic-periodontic lesions(EPL), in order to provide a theoretical basis for selection of proper time for root canal therapy and suitable root canal sealants in patients with EPL.
Methods: Fifty single-root anterior teeth extracted due to severe periodontitis were selected. The roots were completely debrided to remove the calculus, dental plaque and cementum.
Objective: To evaluate color masking and relative translucency parameter (RTP) of increasing dentin thicknesses from different resin composites, with or without opacifiers, on a veneer dental preparation and resin disks.
Material And Methods: Artificial darkened lateral incisors with 1mm-thick veneers preparations were used to evaluate color masking of different resinous materials, with or without opacifiers: IPS Empress Direct (ED) with or without ED Opaque; and Essentia (ES) with or without ES Masking Liner. For the RTP test; disc-shaped specimens were performed and evaluated with a spectrophotometer (VITA Easyshade) against black and C4 backgrounds.

The Aim Of The Study: Was to determine the possibility of calculating the parameters of the occlusal surface of fixed dentures.
Materials And Methods: An analysis of dependence between the area of the occlusal surface and the area of the support structures (tooth root/implant), between the severity of the occlusal relief (tubercles of teeth) on the length of the root/implant was carried out.
Results: The nearness of the Kurlandsky periodontal coefficients and Oksman masticatory coefficients with the calculated coefficients obtained on the basis of 3D analysis of the lateral teeth anatomy has been established.
