The FTIR and Raman spectra of 10 diamonds from Yuanshui, Hunan province show that the alluvial diamonds from this area are mostly IaAB type, with a significant character that the A-center is enriched relatively; the nitrogen concentration in the diamonds is between 38.20 and 840.67 microg x g(-1), which has a tremendous distinction in different crystal. The residence time of the diamonds in the mantle are between 0.043 and 3.315 Ga, which is also has a great difference in different diamond grains. The remotest residence time (3.315 Ga) of one diamond is older than the most aged rock (3.285 Ga) in Xiang-E-Qian-Gui contiguous zone. A remarkable environment change had took place during the process of diamonds formation. The formation depth of dodecahedral diamonds is deeper than that of the octahedral ones.

Confocal Raman microscopy was applied to detect structural change within individual particles of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) following chemical and electrochemical processing steps that aimed to facilitate material decomposition. A high numerical aperture (NA) oil-immersion objective enabled depth-profiling through the near surface region (20 μm-40 μm) of irregularly shaped particles with an axial spatial resolution < 2 μm estimated from measurements of instrument detection efficiency profiles. Changes in vibrational bands sensitive to polyethylene crystallinity were evident following treatments and linked to the release of low molecular weight compounds present as additives and products of processing.

Copper alloys form various corrosion products such as sulfides and chlorides. Chlorides can cause severe structural damage in 'bronze disease', making the early identification of corrosion products and conservation treatment important tasks. In this study, standard spectra were established for nine minerals of corrosion products using a portable Raman spectrometer, and their identification was verified by comparing them with benchtop micro-Raman spectra.

Energy levels associated with several crystalline defects, such as zinc (V) and oxygen (V) vacancies, Zn and O interstitials (Zn and O respectively), Zn and O antisite defects, and charged oxygen vacancies Vo-, among others, are generated by the introduction of cobalt (Co) into the structure. The effective introduction of Co into the Zn occupancy site was evaluated by XRD and electron paramagnetic resonance. The EPR spectra remain consistent across all doping concentrations of Co ions and revealed intriguing features linked to four distinct Co paramagnetic centers; among them, a pair of Co ions exhibited ferromagnetic coupling.

The relationship between the structure and function of condensed matter is complex and changeable, which is especially suitable for combination with machine learning to quickly obtain optimized experimental conditions. However, little research has been done on the effect of temperature on condensed matter and how it affects device performance because the difference between the in situ physical property parameters (which are lowered by the surface tension and mixing entropy) and the basic parameters of the bulk makes accurate AI predictions difficult. In this work, P3HT/ITIC was chosen as the donor/acceptor material for the active layer of organic phototransistors (OPTs).

Background: Plant-based milk alternatives (PBMA) are increasingly popular due to rising lactose intolerance and environmental concerns over traditional dairy products. However, limited efforts have been made to develop rapid authentication methods to verify their biological origin.
Objective: In this study, we developed a rapid, on-site analytical method for the authentication and identification of PBMA made by six different plant species utilizing a portable Raman spectrometer coupled with machine learning.
