Growth and differentiation factor 15 (GDF15), a member of the transforming growth factor-βsuperfamily, is considered a stress response factor and has garnered increasing attention in recent years due to its roles in neurological diseases. Although many studies have suggested that GDF15 expression is elevated in patients with neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs), glioma, and ischemic stroke, the effects of increased GDF15 expression and the potential underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Notably, many experimental studies have shown the multidimensional beneficial effects of GDF15 on NDDs, and GDF15 overexpression is able to rescue NDD-associated pathological changes and phenotypes.

The study aimed to compare the effects of different types of excimer laser keratectomy on rabbit corneas and to identify the optimal disease model for corneal ectasia. Additionally, investigating the structural and molecular alterations in the novel disease model helped explore the mechanisms underlying biomechanical cues in corneal ectasia. 2.

Porcine circovirus type 3 (PCV3) is an emerging pathogen that causes porcine dermatitis, and reproductive failure. PCV3 Cap interacts with DExD/H-box helicase 36 (DHX36), a protein that functions primarily through regulating interferon (IFN)-β production. However, how the interaction between DHX36 and PCV3 Cap regulates viral replication remains unknown.

Accurately predicting activation energies is crucial for understanding chemical reactions and modeling complex reaction systems. However, the high computational cost of quantum chemistry methods often limits the feasibility of large-scale studies, leading to a scarcity of high-quality activation energy data. In this work, we explore and compare three innovative approaches (transfer learning, delta learning, and feature engineering) to enhance the accuracy of activation energy predictions using graph neural networks, specifically focusing on methods that incorporate low-cost, low-level computational data.
