In this study, microneedles which possess sharp tips were utilized to trap and detect the biomolecules. Owing to the large curvature, the tips of the microneedles created a substantially high gradient of electric field under the non-uniform electric field which served as not only the trapping sites but also the substrate for surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). Separation of polystyrene microparticles with different sizes and two kinds of biomolecules (Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) and the red blood cells (RBCs)) were demonstrated. Moreover, in situ detection of S. aureus was performed immediately after separation was completed. The results showed that, after 15 s of sample collection, the Raman signals of S. aureus were detected and greatly enhanced through SERS effect.

Ofloxacin, a commonly prescribed antibiotic, raises serious environmental concerns due to its persistence in aquatic systems. This study offers new insights into the environmental behavior of ofloxacin and its interactions with carbon-based adsorbents with the aim of enhancing our understanding of its removal mechanisms via adsorption processes. Using a comprehensive computational approach, we analyzed the speciation, pK values, and solubility of ofloxacin across various pH conditions, accounting for all four microspecies, including the often-overlooked neutral form.

During the iterative process of the progressive iterative approximation, it is necessary to calculate the difference between the current interpolation curve and the corresponding data points, known as the adjustment vector. To achieve more precise adjustments of control points, this paper decomposes the adjustment vector into its coordinate components and introduces a weight for each component. By dynamically adjusting these weights, we can accelerate the convergence of iterations and enhance approximation accuracy.
