This article re-examines the anticolonial critique of the concept of 'humanity'. It uses the example of Leopold Senghor to show the extent to which this critique is shaped by their sociological marginality. Drawing on Georg Simmel's discussion of the 'stranger' and Patricia Hill Collins's discussion of the 'outsider within', the study rethinks the production of knowledge in racially structured societies.

Using dual-color two-photon calcium imaging in the thalamus of awake mice, we observed similar coarse-scale retinotopic organization between axons of superior colliculus neurons and retinal ganglion cells, both providing strong converging excitatory input to thalamic neurons. At a fine scale of ∼10 µm, collicular boutons often shared visual feature preferences with nearby retinal boutons.

In the long and complex process of geological evolution, the rise of the Himalayan movement and the strong Quaternary glacial movement 400,000 years ago have shaped the highly distinctive travertine landform landscape of Huanglong, China. The overflow of karst water in the high travertine layer has formed magnificent waterfalls and wonderful karst caves as well as the world's largest open-air travertine beaches and pools. The unique travertine landscape has entered the public's vision.

The cornea is the primary refracting surface of the eye, requiring precise curvature to ensure optimal vision. Any distortion in its shape may result in significant visual impairment. Corneal ectasias, such as keratoconus (KC), is characterized by gradual thinning and protrusion of the thinned area, due to biomechanical weakening of the tissue, leading to astigmatism and vision loss.
