The recombination luminescence from Zn imperfections has been extensively investigated; however, there have been few reports on the long persistent luminescence of Zn imperfections as emitting centers. Here, we observed a long persistent luminescence in blue-white visible region from 6 ZnO:3 GeO2:Al2O3 phosphor with Zn imperfections as emitting centers. Persistent luminescence could be observed beyond 2h with naked eyes. The properties of traps were also elaborated by the measurements of thermo-luminescence spectra and photo-stimulated luminescence decay curves. Furthermore, a long persistent phosphor with warm white color was developed by doping Cr(3+) into 6 ZnO:3 GeO2:Al2O3 phosphor.

Background: Despite an epidemic of end-stage kidney disease in the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, disparities in access to kidney transplantation persist. The journey to a successful kidney transplant is long, with an initial suitability assessment required before waitlist-specific activities begin. In an Aboriginal Community Controlled renal service, we aimed to: (i) design and implement a continuous quality improvement (CQI) approach to transplant suitability assessment, (ii) provide transplant suitability assessments for all patients of the service, (iii) describe what temporary contraindications to kidney transplantation should be the focus of health service improvements, (iv) explore participant experiences with the suitability assessment process, and (v) use our findings to inform pre- and post-transplant model of care development within Kimberley Renal Services.

Passive daytime radiative cooling offers a promising approach to address energy, environmental, and safety issues caused by global warming. However, the contradiction between high radiative cooling performance and long-lasting ultraviolet (UV) durability is a primary limitation at the current stage. Here, inspired by the ability of epidermal cells and palisade cells on the leaf surface to protect internal leaf structures (such as chloroplasts and nuclei) under drought and high-temperature conditions, a double-layer passive radiative cooling (PRC) porous membrane, which consists of an upper protective layer densely packed with highly ultraviolet-reflective inorganic particles and a bottom cooling layer doped with a variety of optically characterized inorganic particles, was developed to overcome these challenges.
