Background: There exists clinical equipoise regarding whether and when an invasive approach should be preferred over conservative treatment in the management of stable late ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) presenting within 12 to 72 h of symptom onset.

Objective: To perform a systematic review to identify the most effective treatment strategy between percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and medical therapy in stable late STEMI presenters by comparing their respective outcomes as well as determine the optimal timing of PCI by evaluating the outcomes of urgent versus non-urgent PCI approach in this patient population.

Methods: PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane databases were queried from inception until March 2024 for studies comparing the outcomes of PCI versus medical therapy, as well as urgent versus non-urgent PCI, in stable late STEMI patients presenting with symptom onset within 12-72 h.

The influence of temperature induced changes in the composition of MFGM on membrane phase transition and nanomechanical properties.

Food Res Int

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Food Science and Resources, Nanchang University, Nanchang, Jiangxi 330047, China; Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co., Ltd, Hohhot, China. Electronic address:

Biomimetic membrane was investigated as model systems to mimic the structure of milk fat globule membrane (MFGM) and to study the effects of thermal processing-induced changes in MFGM fractions on membrane morphology and physical properties. Molecular docking was utilized to screen xanthine oxidase (XO) as the MFGM protein most likely to bind to phospholipid molecules on MFGM. Fluorescence spectroscopy verified that XO formed stable complexes with DOPE, DPPC, and PS 18:0-18:1, with the strongest binding to DOPE.

Identification of 3-methoxytyramine as a specific biomarker for beet-sugar-fed honey: A two year surveillance study in South Korea.

Food Res Int

January 2025

New Hazardous Substances Division, National Institute of Food and Drug Safety Evaluation, Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, Osong, Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do 28159, Republic of Korea. Electronic address:

Honey is highly vulnerable to food fraud, and there are growing concerns about product authenticity. The commonly used stable carbon isotope ratios in the Calvin (C3) and Hatch-Slack (C4) photosynthesis cycles in plant feed cannot distinguish between beet-sugar-fed honey and natural honey. However, 3-methoxytyramine (3-MT) can be used as specific biomarker for identifying adulteration of beet-sugar-fed honey.

The valorization of grape pomace from Montepulciano winemaking: A new source of functional ingredients for sustainable food industry.

Food Res Int

January 2025

Department of Agricultural Sciences, University of Naples Federico II, Via Università 100, 80055, Portici (Naples), Italy; Institute of Food Science & Technology, National Research Council, Via Roma 52, 83100, Avellino, Italy. Electronic address:

The winemaking process generates huge amounts of waste every year. Fermented grape pomace, the major by-waste product, holds significant value due to its chemical composition and technological properties. In this study a multi-omics approach was employed for the detailed molecular characterization of fermented grape pomace from Montepulciano grape, a widely used Italian red grape variety.

Soil aggregation alterations under soil microplastic and biochar addition and aging process.

Environ Pollut

January 2025

School of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering, Wuhan University, Wuhan, 430072, China.

Soil microplastics (MPs) are a substantial threat to soil health, particularly by disrupting soil aggregation. Additionally, MPs undergo aging processes in the soil, which may significantly alter their long-term impacts on soil structure. To investigate these effects, we conducted an eight-month soil incubation experiment, examining the influence of MPs and their aging on soil aggregation.
