Background: Administration of radiopharmaceuticals through intravenous and oral routes is the major source of radiation exposure to nuclear medicine (NM) technologists. Adopting new strategies to minimize radiation exposure is an important step toward safe practice in nuclear pharmacy.
Materials And Methods: We have indigenously developed a relatively close delivery system for oral administration of radioiodine-131 ((131)I) to minimize radiation exposure to the technologists.
Results: The efficacy of this indigenously developed close system was assessed upon 23 patients who were given (131)I therapies for benign (13 patients) and malignant thyroid disorders (10 patients). There was 64 ± 6% (P < 0.05) reduction in exposure rate using indigenously developed delivery system.
Conclusion: The cost involved in developing this system was very nominal, but efficacy in terms of radiation safety and confidence of our technologists were phenomenal.

Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) has emerged as a promising technology for neutralizing microbes, including multidrug-resistant strains. This study investigates CAP's potential as an alternative to traditional antimicrobial drugs for microbial inactivation. In the era of increasing antimicrobial resistance, there is a persistent need for alternative antimicrobial strategies.

The demand for engineered composites particularly fiberglass reinforced polymers (FRP) is gaining momentum. The manufacturing of virgin input-resins for these composites involves the use of certain materials which poses serious environmental implication. This study has exclusively applied and investigated the Grey Forecasting model for management of FRP waste in developing countries to minimize the virgin inputs and likely environmental impacts.

This study focuses on developing an affordable and cost-effective colorimetric solid-state optical sensor for target-specific naked-eye detection of Pb, offering significant potential for real-time environmental monitoring and public health applications. The indigenously developed porous polymer monolithic template, poly(lauryl methacrylate-co-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) (poly(LMC-co-EGDMA) is infused with a chromoionophoric probe, i.e.

Background: In renal cell carcinoma (RCC), skin metastases (SMs) occur in only 3.3% of cases and are even rarer as an initial manifestation of the disease. Although combination therapy with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and targeted agents is the current standard of care, access to these treatments may be limited in certain regions due to cost constraints.

To feed the world's expanding population, crop breeders need to increase agricultural productivity and expand major crops base. Orphan crops are indigenously important crops with great potential because they are climate resilient, highly nutritious, contain nutraceutical compounds, and can improve the livelihood of smallholder farmers and consumers, but they have received little or no scientific attention. This review article examines several research and developmental strategies for hastening the improvement of these crops so that they can effectively play their role in securing food and nutrition.
