Glandular odontogenic cyst (GOC) is a rare odontogenic cyst derived from the odontogenic epithelium. GOC shows unpredictable and potentially aggressive behavior. Although enucleation and curettage are applied in most cases, the recurrence rate remains relatively high. Because a standard care procedure for GOC has not been established, we propose a new treatment procedure for GOC. In this case report, we describe a 62-year-old Japanese woman who suffered from GOC arising at the anterior region of her mandible and who was treated using the dredging method. She underwent enucleation and curettage twice using the dredging method with preservation of the teeth, which were involved with the lesion, but the lesion recurred 2 years later. In addition to enucleation and curettage, apicoectomy of the teeth was performed with a third dredging method procedure, and prognosis has been good with no recurrence for 18 months since the last treatment.

From both economic and environmental points of view, the reuse of dredged sediments in the direct onsite casting of concrete represents a promising method for replacing sand. The aim of this study was to develop a cementitious material that (i) reuses the thin particles of sediments; (ii) has a low density due to the incorporation of air foam in the material; and (iii) achieves a minimum mechanical strength of 0.5 MPa for embankment applications.

Introduction: Given the challenges in diagnosing children with long COVID, we sought to explore diagnostic practices and preferences among clinicians.
Methods: A ten-question survey assessed pediatric providers' clinical decision making for identifying and evaluating long COVID in children. Of the 120 survey respondents, 84 (70%) were physicians, 31 (26%) nurse practitioners, and 5 (4%) physician assistants.

The safety and efficacy of vaccination is a subject contentious in the public mind. Despite overwhelming evidence of their benefits to public health, COVID-19 and human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccines have been the focus of intense concerns. While the original phase III trials and post-market phase IV studies have continued to show their benefits and positive safety profile, some authors have attempted to reassess the original trial data, purporting to showing hidden harms for both COVID-19 and HPV vaccines.

The comprehensive effects of environmental dredging on heavy metals (HM) are still uncertain. This study comprehensively evaluates the long-term effects of dredging on the environmental risk and bioavailability of HM (Cu, Ni, Zn, Pb, Cd, Cr, and As) in Lake Taihu, China, by comparing simulated dredged treated (D) and undredged (UD) sediment cores under in-situ conditions for one year. Threshold effect level (TEL), geological accumulation index (I), potential ecological risk index (RI), and ratios of secondary phase and primary phase (RSP) methods were used to assess the environmental risk of sediment HM; and the diffusive gradient in thin-films (DGT) technique was applied to assess the bioavailability of sediment HM.

Slurry pipeline transportation is widely used in dredging and serves as an essential method for conveying solid materials. However, accurately describing the interaction between slurry and particles through numerical simulations, while optimizing the pipeline structure to improve the performance of slurry pipelines, poses a significant engineering challenge. In this study, a Z-shaped continuous pipeline, designed using B-spline curves, is implemented in the slurry circulation system.
