We report a new method for developing a low-temperature solution processed vanadium oxide (s-VOx) and poly(4-styrene sulfonic acid) (PSS) composite to act as an efficient hole-transport layer (HTL) in polymer solar cells (PSCs). By compositing the s-VOx and PSS (s-VOx:PSS), the work function values of the s-VOx:PSS changed from 5.0 to 5.3 eV. Therefore, the energy level barrier between the HTL and organic active layer decreased, facilitating charge injection/extraction at the interfaces. In addition, the s-VOx:PSS films were denser and had more pin-hole-free surfaces than pristine s-VOx films, resulting in enhanced PSC performance due to significantly decreased leakage currents and excellent device stability in ambient condition. Because our approach of combining soluble transition metal oxide (TMO) and polymeric acid shows dramatically better performance than pristine TMO, we expect that it can provide useful guidelines for the synthesis and application of TMOs for organic electronics in the future.

Topical transdermal drug delivery for psoriasis remains a challenge because of the poor solubility of hydrophobic drugs and the limited penetration of the stratum corneum. In this study, a near-infrared (NIR) light-responsive thermosensitive hydrogel (PDLLA-PEG-PDLLA, PLEL)-based drug reservoir is developed that directly incorporated gold nanorods (GNRs) and methotrexate (MTX) in the sol state at low temperature, which is referred to as PLEL@GNR+MTX. The in vitro anti-psoriasis experiment indicated that, GNRs, as photothermal cores of composite hydrogel, not only triggered keratinocyte apoptosis but also promoted MTX release in a synergistic manner.

Background: Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is characterized by the accumulation of beta‐amyloid plaques and tau protein tangles and neurodegeneration, with growing interest in the role of neuroinflammation. The neuroinflammatory response to an insult is modulated by microglia, which transition from a resting state marked by ramified, branching processes to an activated stated in which they proliferate, migrate, and swell (processes shorten, somas enlarge). Animal studies have shown that diffusion‐weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is sensitive to these morphological differences in microglia, with higher diffusion in brain regions experiencing inflammation.

Background: Lecanemab is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody that binds with high affinity to Aβ soluble protofibrils. In two clinical studies (phase 2, NCT01767311 and phase 3 ClarityAD, NCT03887455) in early Alzheimer’s disease, lecanemab substantially reduced amyloid PET and significantly slowed clinical decline on multiple measures of cognition and function, including CDR‐SB at 18 months. Models describing the change in amyloid PET and CDR‐SB in response to lecanemab treatment were used to explore the impact of changing from the initial dosage regimen (10 mg/kg every 2 weeks [Q2W]) to a less intensive maintenance dosing regimen (10 mg/kg every 4 weeks [Q4W]) on clinical efficacy, and to explore the optimal duration of the initial dosing regimen.
