Bicuspid aortic valve (BAV), the most common congenital cardiac anomaly, predisposes individuals to aortic stenosis and regurgitation due to valve degeneration. Abnormal hemodynamics, arterial wall characteristics, and genetic factors contribute to ascending aorta dilatation, potentially leading to severe complications like aortic dissection. Presently, the most recent guidelines propose that individuals with BAV requiring valve replacement due to valve dysfunction should undergo simultaneous replacement of the ascending aorta when the diameter of aortic dilatation exceeds 4.

Objective: To analytically depict the associated malformations of polysplenia syndrome (PS) in adults via computed tomography (CT).
Materials And Methods: The incidence of malformations associated with PS in twelve adult patients was retrospectively analyzed via CT imaging.
Results: The number of splenic nodules ranged from three to twelve; the splenic nodules were located in the left upper quadrant in nine patients and in the right upper quadrant in three patients.
Background: Ceftolozane-tazobactam and ceftazidime-avibactam are preferred treatment options for multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections; however, real-world comparative effectiveness studies are scarce. Pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic differences between the agents might affect clinical response rates. We aimed to compare the effectiveness of ceftolozane-tazobactam and ceftazidime-avibactam for treatment of invasive multidrug-resistant P aeruginosa infections.

Background And Objective: About half of all heart failures are heart failures with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEFs). As the population ages and metabolic disorders become more common, the prevalence of HFpEF continues to increase annually. Patients with HFpEF typically show a decline in various reserve capacities after exercise.
