Binge eating disorder (BED) is the most prevalent form of disordered eating, frequently associated with obesity. Both these conditions along with sharing overeating behaviour features can lead to substantial burden of disease and premature mortality. With limited specific evidence available on pharmacotherapy, since lisdexamfetamine is approved only in some countries, new drugs are urgently needed to provide physicians with efficacious prescribing choices when treating BED.
