Unlabelled: Coxarthrosis is a disorder of the physiological balance between the strength of the articular cartilage and articular bone, and between the pressures exerted on the joint. It is a disease with a slow progressive and long course. Its insidious onset and progression, marked by variable periods of stagnation lasting months or even years make it difficult to establish the time of onset.
Material And Methods: The study was conducted between January 2012 and December 2012, on a series of 27 coxarthrosis patients, diagnosed at the Rheumatology Clinic of the lasi Rehabilitation Hospital.
Results And Discussion: Of the 27 patients, 11 (40.74%) had primary bilateral coxarthrosis, 8 (29.63%) early coxarthrosis. right, 6 (22.22%) coxarthrosis, left, secondary to aseptic femoral head osteonecrosis, and 2 (7.41%) patients had bilateral coxarthrosis secondary to acetabular insufficiency. Kinesitherapy proved to be highly effective in the rehabilitation of coxarthrosis patients by alleviating pain, mechanical protection of the hip joint, walking rehabilitation in total hip arthroplasty, and social and professional integration of the patients. The massage besides its analgesic effect also acted as a muscle relaxant. Once the objectives have been met, the kinesiology program becomes global and functional rather than analytical, as it aims at reintegrating the coxofemoral joint into normal movement patterns.
Conclusions: Kinesitherapy has been shown to be a physical treatment that can not be replaced by other rehabilitation methods and is crucial in the recovery of lost functions.
