The aim of this study was to investigate the potential correlation between polymorphisms of the estrogen receptor (ER)-β gene (RsaI and AluI) and ethnic Han Chinese human idiopathic thin endometrium. A total of 120 patients with idiopathic thin endometrium and 120 sterility patients with normal endometrium thickness (controls) were included in the study. RsaI and AluI polymorphisms of the ER-β gene were analyzed with polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism. The distribution of polymorphisms, genotype, allele, and haplotype was compared between the 2 groups. A significant difference in the RsaI genotype was observed between idiopathic thin endometrium patients and controls. The distribution of the R allele of the RsaI polymorphism in idiopathic thin endometrium patients was 37.1% compared with 48.3% in controls. The odds ratio was 0.630 (95% confidence interval = 0.438 to 0.907, P = 0.013). No significant difference in the genotype of the AluI polymorphism was found between the two groups. The linkage disequilibrium between RsaI and AluI haploids was not significant in either group, with D' values of 0.2036 and 0.0685 in the idiopathic thin endometrium patients and controls, respectively. The results of this study suggest a potential role of the ER-β gene polymorphisms in the etiology of idiopathic atrophic endometrium and the R allele as a potential protective factor in ethnic Han Chinese.

The research question is as follows: Are estrogen and progesterone receptor genotypes associated with thin endometrium? We performed a prospective cohort study of 129 patients who underwent preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidies. These patients were categorized according to endometrial thickness: >7 mm control group (n = 94) and ≤7 mm study group (n = 35). Polymorphisms in the genes ESR1 (rs9340799 and rs3138774), ESR2 (rs1256049 and rs4986938), and PGR (rs1042838) were analyzed.

Introduction: Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is known to elevate cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk, but the extent to which obesity and IIH-specific factors contribute to this risk is not well understood. WE aim to separate the effects of obesity from IIH-specific factors on the risk of stroke and CVD, building on previous findings that indicate a two-fold increase in cardiovascular events in women with IIH compared to BMI-matched controls.
Methods: An obesity-adjusted risk analysis was conducted using Indirect Standardization based on data from a cohort study by Adderley et al.

Objectives: Acetylated tubulin is a hallmark of flagellar stability in spermatozoa, and studies have demonstrated the ability of CDYL to function as a tubulin acetyltransferase in spermatozoa. Of note, germline conditional knockout of Cdyl can lead to asthenoteratozoospermia and infertility in male mice. However, the role of CDYL gene in human fertility remains uncharacterized.

: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a prevalent interstitial lung disease that typically progresses gradually, leading to respiratory failure and ultimately death. IPF can be treated with the tyrosine kinase inhibitor, nintedanib (NTD), owing to its anti-fibrotic properties, which ameliorate the impairment of lung function. This study aimed to formulate, optimize, and assess NTD-loaded ufasomes (NTD-UFSs) as a nanosystem for its pulmonary targeting to snowball the bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy of the drug.

To exploring the value of MR neuroimaging for quantitative assessment of the facial nerve and peripheral lymph nodes in patients with acute peripheral facial paralysis. Based on a prospective experimental design, 32 patients with idiopathic peripheral facial palsy were enrolled in the experiment. Based on MR neuroimaging technology, MR high-resolution thin-layer images of bilateral facial nerves were acquired.
