The aim of this study was to evaluate the risk of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) in an adult population residing in an area in northern Italy exposed to industrial air pollution from a big power plant, a coke oven, 2 chemical factories, and some minor plants. The design was a population-based case-control study and information about residential history and the main risk factors for NHL was obtained interviewing 133 cases and 279 controls using a structured questionnaire. Three exposure categories (heavy, moderate, and slight) were defined on the basis of the location of the major facilities with respect to the subject residence. NHL risk was not associated either with location or duration of residence in the heavily polluted area. However, the unavoidable limitations of this study prevent us from drawing definitive conclusions.

Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, highly invasive non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The main pathogenesis of MCL is associated with the formation of the IgH/CCND1 fusion gene and nuclear overexpression of cyclin D1, which accelerates the cell cycle, leading to tumorigenesis. The prognosis with current standard chemotherapy is still unsatisfactory.

Environmental factors, largely influenced by human behavior, account for approximately 80% of malignant tumors. Risk factors associated with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) have been identified in various countries among both humans and domestic animals. This study aimed to investigate potential risk factors for NHL in dogs residing in the district of Porto, Portugal.

Background: Oral manifestations are frequent in patients with hematological malignancies undergoing chemotherapy and may be directly or indirectly related to drug toxicity. Few studies have assessed the chemotherapy and oral manifestations that patients might develop. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the incidence of oral manifestations in patients with hematologic neoplasms during hospitalization and chemotherapy.

Acquired von Willebrand syndrome (aVWS) is a rare hematological disorder depicted by dysfunctional or deficient von Willebrand factor activity and can be associated with underlying hematological malignancies such as non-Hodgkins lymphoma (NHL). This case report examines a patient with aVWS secondary to NHL and highlights the challenges in managing bleeding and optimizing a patient for surgery. The case report will explore the multidisciplinary approach to recognizing aVWS, treatment modalities, and adjunctive measures to reduce bleeding risk as well as long-term management.
