Although several antithrombotic strategies have been investigated for the management of cryptogenic strokes, ie, ischemic strokes without known etiologies, an optimal antithrombotic strategy for cryptogenic strokes is unknown. We aim to assess oral antithrombotic agents' comparative efficacy and safety after cryptogenic stroke to identify an optimal treatment.A systematic review and meta-analysis synthesizing evidence from randomized controlled trials (RCTs) obtained from PubMed, Embase Cochrane, Scopus, and Web of Science until February 2024.

Introduction: Various cardiovascular thrombo-embolic clinical entities use combined ATS for prevention and treatment. After PCI, AF patients are typically prescribed DOAC, DAPT/SAPT, as component of ATS to minimize stroke risk and treat pulmonary embolism and venous thromboembolism. Some small observational studies have shown that a combined ATS can clear small thrombi in LV dysfunction and/or apical aneurysms.

Animal models of thrombosis play a critical role in research, helping us understand the mechanisms of hemostasis and thrombus formation, as well as in the screening of anti-thrombotic drugs. This study aimed to evaluate the safety profile of two anticoagulants in murine research and to assess coagulation parameters, including prothrombin time (PT) and activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT), using the VETSCAN VSpro coagulation analyzer in wild-type (C57BL/6) mice following administration of anticoagulants. Two experiments were conducted involving a total of sixty wild-type mice that received two common anticoagulants.

Division of Clinical Chemistry and Pharmacology, Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences, Linköping University, Linköping, Sweden.

Background:  Thrombin is a multifunctional regulatory enzyme of the haemostasis and has both pro- and anticoagulant roles. It has, therefore, been a main target for drug discovery over many decades. Thrombin is a serine protease and possesses two positively charged regions called exosites, through which it is known to bind to many substrates.

: The practice of holding anticoagulation is a relatively common approach, with the aim of either preventing excessive bleeding in preparation for surgical procedures or managing acute bleeding episodes. : To assess the relationship between the discontinuation of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) therapy and the condition of hypercoagulability, a systematic review of the literature was conducted, following PRISMA guidelines, in PubMed/MEDLINE, Cochrane, and Google Scholar. These databases were searched for all publications that described a rebound phenomenon or hypercoagulability state after DOACs discontinuation.
