Sirtuins are involved in the control of the cell cycle and regulation of gene transcription. While some sirtuins have tumor suppressor effects, others regulate tumors metabolism. Within this perspective, the present article is a review of the current role of sirtuins in the etiology and physiopathology of cancer. Sirtuins show strong potential to become a valuable predictive and prognostic marker for cancer and are eligible as therapeutic targets for a variety of tumors. Investigation of new molecules able to modulate sirtuins activity must be encouraged.

Accumulating evidence indicates that cellular senescence is closely associated with osteoarthritis. However, there is limited research on the mechanisms underlying fibroblast-like synoviocyte senescence and its impact on osteoarthritis progression. Here, we elucidate a positive correlation between fibroblast-like synoviocyte senescence and osteoarthritis progression and reveal that GATD3A deficiency induces fibroblast-like synoviocyte senescence.

The sirtuin (SIRT) family is a group of seven conserved nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide-dependent histone deacetylases (SIRT1-SIRT7), which play crucial roles in various fundamental biological processes, including metabolism, aging, stress responses, inflammation, and cell survival. The role of SIRTs in neuro-pathophysiology has recently attracted significant attention. Notably, SIRT1-SIRT3 have been identified as key players in neuroprotection as they reduce neuroinflammation and regulate mitochondrial function.

Keratinocytes exosome participates in the pathogenesis of psoriasis and exosomes always carry long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) into target cells to function as an essential immune regulator in psoriasis-related diseases. LncRNA LOC285194 is closely associated with the occurrence of psoriasis. However, whether keratinocyte exosomal LOC285194 participates in the process of psoriasis remains vague.

Background: Uterine fibroids (UF) is the most common benign tumour of the female reproductive system. We investigated the joint contribution of genome-wide association studies (GWAS)-significant loci and environment-associated risk factors to the UF risk, along with epistatic interactions between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs).
Methods: DNA samples from 737 hospitalised patients with UF and 451 controls were genotyped using probe-based PCR for seven common GWAS SNPs: rs117245733 , rs547025 rs2456181 , rs7907606 , , rs58415480 , rs7986407 , and rs72709458 .

Hyperlipidemia is a critical risk factor for obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and other chronic diseases. Our study was to determine the effects and mechanism of mangiferin (MF) and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) compounds on improving hyperlipidemia in HepG2 cells. HepG2 cells were treated with 0.
