The significance of proper handling of biopsy specimens is important and obvious for any histopathological diagnosis. Accuracy of tissue diagnosis by the pathologists is heavily dependent upon the competence of histotechnologists. The aim of a good histopathological technique is to produce microscopic preparation of tissues, usually stained, that represents as closely as possible, their structures in life. But this is not always possible and some sort of tissue morphology is bound to be seen. The ability of oral pathologists in interpreting a biopsy correctly is directly proportional not only to the quality, but also to the quantity of the specimen. There are many ways through which the exact interpretation of tissue specimen becomes compromised and the major pitfall is the presence of artefacts. These artefacts may occur during surgical removal, fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy and staining procedures. It is therefore important to identify the common occurring artefacts during interpretation of oral biopsies.

Purpose: This work aims at investigating, via in-silico evaluations, the noise properties of an innovative scanning geometry in cone-beam CT (CBCT): eCT. This scanning geometry substitutes each of the projections in CBCT with a series of collimated projections acquired over an oscillating scanning trajectory. Purpose: Assistance from artefacts and humans are traditionally viewed as separate, and it is often up to the individual to try to combine the different kinds of assistance to suit their needs and preferences. The purpose of this study was to gain new insights into the co-existence of and synergies between artefactual and human assistance in the everyday lives of persons with physical and cognitive impairments, through exploring and analysing narratives of individuals who have first-hand knowledge and experience.
Methods: Seven individuals took part in semi-structured interviews, which were then analysed with qualitative content analysis, grounded in cultural-historical activity theory.

We extend existing techniques by using generative adversarial network (GAN) models to reduce the appearance of cast shadows in radiographs across various age groups. We retrospectively collected 11,500 adult and paediatric wrist radiographs, evenly divided between those with and without casts. The test subset consisted of 750 radiographs with cast and 750 without cast.
