We present possible indications for flavor separation during the QCD crossover transition based on continuum extrapolated lattice QCD calculations of higher order susceptibilities. We base our findings on flavor-specific quantities in the light and strange quark sector. We propose a possible experimental verification of our prediction, based on the measurement of higher order moments of identified particle multiplicities. Since all our calculations are performed at zero baryochemical potential, these results are of particular relevance for the heavy-ion program at the LHC.

Polyphenols are known to interact with starch to form the V-type inclusion complex or the noninclusive complex. It is hypothesized that the addition of polyphenols could improve the properties of Chinese yam (Dioscorea opposita Thunb.) starch, and the properties of the complexes could be regulated by controlling the additive amount of polyphenols.

Purpose: Self-testing has been proven to significantly improve not only simple learning outcomes, but also higher-order skills such as clinical reasoning in medical students. Previous studies have shown that self-testing was especially beneficial when it was presented with feedback, which leaves the question whether an immediate and personalized feedback further encourages this effect. Therefore, we hypothesised that individual feedback has a greater effect on learning outcomes, compared to generic feedback.

The present work employs the CCSD(T)/CBS//M06-2X/aug-cc-pVTZ level of theory to investigate the effect of a water monomer (WM) and dimer (WD) on the oxidation of nitrous acid (HONO) by the Criegee intermediate (CHOO). The present work suggests that similar to an uncatalyzed path, a water catalyzed reaction can also proceed two paths, , the oxygen atom transfer (OAT) and the hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) path. In addition, here also, the HAT path dominates over the OAT path.

Effects of dietary Lactococcus lactis Z-2 on growth, host health and resistance to Aeromonas hydrophila in juvenile common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.).

J Sci Food Agric

College of Fisheries, Engineering Technology Research Center of Henan Province for Aquatic Animal Cultivation, Henan Normal University, Xinxiang, China.

Background: Lactococcus lactis Z-2 was previously isolated from common carp intestine. In order to investigate the effects of optimal dose of L. lactis Z-2 on growth, host health and disease resistance to Aeromonas hydrophila in common carp, five experimental diets, including without (CK and CK+ groups) or with 5 × 10 (group A), 5 × 10 (group B) and 5 × 10 CFU g (group C) L.
