Objective: To observe whether Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction (XZD) could induce the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) into cardiac myoid cells, thus seeking for safe and effective inducers.

Methods: The serum pharmacological method was used to induce. XZD containing serum was prepared. MSCs were isolated and cultured. The serum cytotoxicity was detected by MTT. The third generation of favorably grown cells was selected in this experiment. Cells were divided into three groups, i.e., the vehicle control group, the XZD containing serum induced group, and the 5-azacytidine induced group. Expressions of Desmin and alpha-actin were detected by immunocytochemical staining method.

Results: Before induction protein expressions of Desmin and alpha-actin were negative, and few was weakly positive. There was no statistical difference in the weak positive expression rate among the 3 groups (P > 0.05). After induction protein expressions of Desmin and alpha-actin were negative, and few was weakly positive in the vehicle control group. Protein expressions of Desmin and alpha-actin were positive in the XZC containing serum induced group and the 5-azacytidine induced group. There was statistical difference in the positive expression rate when compared with the vehicle control group (P > 0.05).

Conclusions: XZD played a role in in vitro inducing differentiation MSCs to cardiac myoid cells. It might participate in expressions of Desmin and alpha-actin.

Background: Ossifying fibromyxoid tumour is a rare mesenchymal soft tissue sarcoma with uncertain differentiation and variable metastatic potential.

Patients And Methods: This study offers a retrospective analysis of 23 patients diagnosed with OFMT between 1993 and 2024.

Results: The tumours most commonly arose in the extremities and trunk, with all patients undergoing surgical resection of the primary tumour.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a worldwide public health problem. Podocyte damage is a hallmark of glomerular diseases including focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and one of the leading causes of CKD. Lysine methylation is a crucial post-translational modification.

Background/objectives: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a progressive pathological condition which results in the severe fibrosis of the kidneys. However, the mechanisms of CKD progression and fibrogenesis remain unclear. We wanted to examine the effects that apocynin and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) have on renal function and structure in animals with CKD induced through 5/6 nephrectomy (5/6 Nx-L).

Background: Cardiomyopathy is a disease that affects the myocardium and can be classified as dilated, restrictive, or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Among the subtypes, restrictive cardiomyopathy is characterized by restriction of ventricular filling and its uncommon cause is a disease due to mutation on Filamin C (FLNC) gene. Filamin C is an actin-binding protein encoded by FLNC gene and participates in sarcomere stability maintenance, which is expressed on the striated muscle.

Primary intracranial sarcoma, -mutant, included as a new diagnostic entity in the 2021 WHO Classification of Central Nervous System Tumors, is a rare, but aggressive neoplasm generally identified in the supratentorial forebrain. The prognostic implications of these uncommon tumors and optimal treatment strategy remain unclear. A 19-year-old woman was found unresponsive after reporting a severe headache.
