A new iron complex mediates stereospecific hydroxylation of alkyl C-H bonds with hydrogen peroxide, exhibiting excellent efficiency. Isotope labelling studies provide evidence that the relative reactivity of tautomerically related oxo-iron species responsible for the C-H hydroxylation reaction is dominated by steric factors.

Quantitative structure retention relation (QSRR) is an active field of research, primarily focused on predicting chromatography retention time (Rt) based on molecular structures of an input analyte on a single or limited number of reversed-phase HPLC (RP-HPLC) columns. However, in the pharmaceutical chemistry manufacturing and controls (CMC) settings, single-column QSRR models are often insufficient. It is important to translate retention time across different HPLC methods, specifically different stationary phases (SP) and mobile phases (MP), to guide the HPLC method development, and to bridge organic impurity profiles across different development phases and laboratories.

Recurrent missense mutations in the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) have been identified across various human cancers. Among these mutations, the active S310F mutation in the HER2 extracellular domain stands out as not only oncogenic but also confers resistance to pertuzumab, an antibody drug widely used in clinical cancer therapy, by impeding its binding. In this study, we have successfully employed computational-aided rational design to undertake directed evolution of pertuzumab, resulting in the creation of an evolved pertuzumab variant named Ptz-SA.

Porous liquids (PLs) are an exciting new class of materials for carbon capture due to their high gas adsorption capacity and ease of industrial implementation. They are composed of sorbent particles suspended in a nonadsorbed solvent, forming a liquid with permanent porosity. While PLs have a vast number of potential compositions based on the number of solvents and sorbent materials available, most of the research has been focused on the selection of the sorbent rather than the solvent.

P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1 (PSGL-1), a mucin-like surface glycoprotein, is primarily expressed on lymphoid and myeloid cells. PSGL-1 has recently been identified as an HIV restriction factor, blocking HIV infectivity mainly through virion incorporation that sterically hinders virion attachment to target cells. PSGL-1 also inhibits HIV Env incorporation into virions.

Spiro architectures with π-conjugation have improved thermal stability and stronger photosensitivity, making them potentially useful for organic optoelectronic devices. Our recent work has demonstrated the synthetic chemistry of a novel thiophene oligomer combining 2,7-dihydrooxepine and dispiro structure and derived it into A-D-A-type compounds. The optical spectroscopy and electrochemical characteristics were investigated.
