Background: Simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplantation (SPKT) is the therapy of choice for selected patients with complicated type 1 diabetes mellitus and end-stage renal disease. Pancreas rescue allocation was implemented in Eurotransplant allocation algorithms to increase organ utilization, concurrently facilitating transplantation of supposedly inferior quality organs. The aim of this study was to examine whether outcomes of SPKT after rescue allocation, which can either be recipient-oriented extended allocation or competitive rescue allocation, were as good as after standard allocation.

A machine learning algorithm was used to optimize the prediction of time to death in male diabetic hemodialysis (MDHD) patients.
Methods: This multicenter retrospective study was conducted on adult MDHD patients (2011-2019) from 34 HD centers affiliated with Shiraz University of Medical Sciences.

Introduction: Pain is a critically important outcome in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD); however, it is infrequently and inconsistently reported in clinical trials. This study aimed to validate the Standardized Outcomes in Nephrology-Polycystic Kidney Disease (SONG-PKD) Pain measure, which includes 3 items related to pain (frequency, severity, and impact on life participation) measured on a 5-point Likert scale, in adults with ADPKD.
Methods: A total of 316 adults with ADPKD from 21 countries participated online.

We developed a tool to evaluate antibiotic stewardship in outpatient hemodialysis infection prevention and control assessments, based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Core Elements of Outpatient antibiotic stewardship. Of facilities assessed (n=12), the average score was 79% (range 44%-100%) for implementation of the Core Elements. Tracking and reporting had the highest engagement (94.
