Glassphalt suffers from performance defects, especially against moisture damage and fatigue cracking. In this research, the performance of glassphalt modified with CF has been evaluated against moisture damage, fatigue cracking and rutting. Based on this, Modified Lottman, Wilhelmy Plate (WP), Indirect Tensile Stiffness Modulus (ITSM), Indirect Tensile Fatigue (ITF), and Repeated Load Axial (RLA) tests have been performed on glassphalt modified with CF.

Exercise and mindfulness-based interventions have growing evidence for managing fatigue and comorbid symptoms; however, packaging them in a cohesive digital way for patients undergoing cancer treatment has not been evaluated. We conducted a randomized controlled trial to assess the impact of a 12 week digital integrative medicine program, Integrative Medicine at Home (IM@Home), versus enhanced usual care on fatigue severity (primary outcome), comorbid symptoms and acute healthcare utilization (secondary outcomes), in 200 patients with solid tumors experiencing fatigue during treatment. Fatigue severity decreased more in IM@Home than in the control (1.

Durable and Damageless Supramolecular Binder for Fast, Stable, and Sustainable Si-Based Anodes.

Mechanical fatigue of the binders during the repeated volume change of Si-based anodes induces binder network collapse, resulting in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) failing prematurely. Herein, we designed a damageless polymer binder with a mechanically interlocked network utilizing [n]daisy chains (MIN) and poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) to improve the structural cohesion of the Si-based anode. This MIN@PAA binder exhibits robust mechanical properties, high elasticity, and excellent adhesion.

Emerging Through Adversity: Early Implementation Learnings of Leadership Capacity Supports to Bolster Team Resilience.

Healthc Q

July 2024

Julia Roitenberg, is the general manager and chief nursing officer of the Public Health Branch in the Community and Health Services Department at the Regional Municipality of York, Ontario.

The COVID-19 pandemic challenged the health workforce to respond to rapidly changing circumstances that demanded agility and endurance. As we emerged from those early years of the pandemic, we saw the aftermath of fatigue and waning resilience. The support of leaders is fundamental to the success of teams, especially in times of adversity and recovery.

Numerical Simulation of Rubber Concrete Considering Fatigue Damage Accumulation of Cohesive Zone Model.

Materials (Basel)

October 2024

Wuhan Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., Wuhan 430056, China.

Rubber concrete (RC) has been used in fatigue-resistant components due to its durability, yet the numerical simulation of its fatigue properties remains in its early stages. This study proposes a cohesive zone model (CZM) that accounts for the accumulation of fatigue damage at the mesoscale to investigate the fatigue performance of RC. The model integrates static and fatigue damage in the CZM, effectively capturing damage caused by fatigue loading.
