Treatment of genital prolapse is mainly surgical. The vaginal approach is a shorter procedure than the abdominal approach with a quicker resumption of activity for the patients. We describe different techniques which are most often performed in our daily practice. For the complete prolapse affecting the three components of the pelvic floor, we most often associate a colpohysterectomy, a native tissue reinforcement for the treatment of cystocele, sub-symphyseal crossing of the uterosacral ligaments using the technique of Campbell and finally a suspension of the vaginal vault according to Richter with a levator myorraphy. Currently, native tissues used in these techniques tend to be superseded in our service by reinforcement prosthetic implants, which according to the latest French Health Higher Authority guidelines (November 14, 2007) "could be of interest in relapse surgery, if a clinical element raises fears of high risk of recurrence." In any case, patients seeking a surgical treatment of their genital prolapse must be fully informed of the specific risk related to each technique. They must also be informed of the long-term results or of the lack of available data, regarding techniques using native tissue or prostheses.

Instant and refrigerated acid soaking are commonly used in cocoon production to prevent or break diapause, and provide developable silkworm eggs for sericulture, while their mechanisms have not been fully understood. This study aims to investigate the mechanisms by which hydrochloric acid (HCl) or dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) promotes embryonic development in silkworm Bombyx mori, focusing on the chloride ion (Cl) related gene expression profiles. Our results revealed that the HCl treatment of up to 6 min enhanced hatchability in freshly picked and cold-stored eggs, whereas a slight decrease in hatchability was observed in those treated with DMSO for 40 min.

Introduction: Concealed penis is a congenital anomaly that affects not only the appearance but also the function of the external genitalia in the male sex. Different surgical methods have been proposed to correct this disorder, including removal of the previous scar, penile shaft, penile trunk skin reconstruction with flap, penile skin fixation in penopubic and penoscrotal angles, and removal of extra pubic fat. In this study, we will discuss the results of definitive surgery in one stage using autogenous skin grafts and examine the details of this technique.

About one in six couples experience fertility problems, and male infertility accounts for about half of these cases. Spermatogenesis originates from a small pool of spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs), which are of interest for the treatment of infertility but remain poorly characterised in humans. Using multiparametric spectral flow cytometric analysis with a 16-colours (16-C) panel of cell markers, we identify novel markers of SSCs and provide insights into unravelling and resolving the heterogeneity of the human spermatogonial cells.
