A stability indicating High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) method was validated and used to study the degradation of cetirizine dihydrochloride in acidic and oxidative conditions. The separation was carried out on a Symmetry C18 column and a mixture of 50 mM KH2PO4 and acetonitrile (60:40 v/v, pH = 3.5) was used as the mobile phase. The method was linear over the range of 1-20 μg/mL of cetirizine dihydrochloride (r(2) > 0.999) and the within-day and between-day precision values were less than 1.5%. The results showed that cetirizine dihydrochloride was unstable in 2 M HCl and 0.5% H2O2. The kinetics of the acidic degradation showed a pseudo-first-order reaction in the temperature range of 70-90°C. In addition, the kinetics of hydrogen peroxide mediated degradation was pseudo-first-order in the temperature range of 50-80°C.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of short-term exposure of Bisphenol A (BPA) on the growth and lactation performance, blood parameters, and milk composition of lactating rabbits and explore its potential molecular mechanisms. Eight lactating rabbits with similar body weight were selected and randomly divided into the experimental group (BPA) and the control group (Ctrl). The group BPA was orally administered 80 mg/kg/day BPA on the 15th day postpartum, while the group Ctrl received a corresponding volume of vehicle.

In this study, the photodegradation of cetirizine dihydrochloride (CET) by BiO/TiO heterojunctions under simulated solar light irradiation (300-800nm) was examined in detail for the first time. A hydrothermal synthesis of the photocatalyst was carried out, and several analytical techniques were used to characterize the product. The resulting BiO/TiO photocatalyst effectively removed CET from an aqueous solution.

Owing to its inherent nondestructive nature, rapid analysis and simplicity, Raman spectroscopy has emerged as a promising tool for forensic analysis of different bodily fluids, particularly oral fluid (OF). Accurate drug identification and quantification are essential for understanding the circumstances surrounding a case, such as whether it involves an overdose fatality, substance abuse, or drug trafficking. This study aims to evaluate the potential of using deep ultraviolet Raman spectroscopy (DUVRS) to detect the antihistamine cetirizine (CTZ) in liquid and solid OF samples.

Background: H1-antihistamines are widely used to treat symptoms depending on histamine release in a variety of conditions. However, neurological adverse events have been reported in post-marketing surveillance studies and there are limited literatures comparing the neurological disorders associated with newer-generation H1-antihistamines from real-world datasets.
Aims: We performed a comparative analysis of nervous system disorders and several newer-generation H1-antihistamines including: cetirizine, loratadine, levocetirizine, desloratadine and fexofenadine.

Eosinophilic gastroenteritis (EGE) is an inflammatory disease characterized by a significant increase in eosinophils. EGE itself is rare, and cases with clinical manifestations of hemorrhagic ascites are even rarer, which undoubtedly increases the risk of misdiagnosis. Given this, this study reports a rare case of pediatric EGE presenting with paroxysmal abdominal pain without apparent cause, accompanied by acute tonsillitis and mesenteric lymphadenitis, suggesting a possible intestinal infection.
