Accidental ingestion of foreign bodies during dental procedures is relatively common, with the potential for serious complications, including intestinal perforations and severe pulmonary disorders. Our case report describes the prolonged, asymptomatic retention of a swallowed hex driver in the small bowel of a 38-year-old male, managed conservatively over an extended period. The patient, with a significant medical history of depression, was undergoing a dental procedure involving implant-supported restorations when the incident occurred.

Introduction: The gastrointestinal microbiota profoundly influences the health and productivity of animals. This study aimed to characterize microbial community structures of the mouth, gastrointestinal tract (GIT), and feces of cattle.
Methods: Samples were collected from 18 Akaushi crossbred steers at harvest from multiple locations, including the oral cavity, rumen, abomasum, duodenum, jejunum, ileum, cecum, spiral colon, distal colon, and feces.

Objectives: To investigate the effect of gut microbiota from postmenopausal osteoporosis patients on bone mass in mice.
Methods: Fecal samples were collected from postmenopausal women with normal bone mass (Con, n=5) and postmenopausal women with osteoporosis (Op, n=5). Microbial composition was identified by shallow shotgun sequencing.

Background: Crohn's disease (CD) is a chronic relapsing-remitting, immunological, inflammatory bowel disease involving any part of the gastrointestinal tract, most commonly, the terminal ileum. Abdominal pain is a prominent debilitating symptom of CD due to continuous intestinal inflammation, associated with disease severity and complications. However, abdominal pain has shown to occur even with disease remission.

Background: Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) is commonly used in animal reproduction and production, but it was previously reported that GnRH decreases the embryo implantation rate during artificial insemination or embryo transfer in sheep. In addition to the finding that GnRH can target S100A4 to inhibit endometrial epithelial cells proliferation, it was also found that endometrial cells were in poor condition and experienced cell death in S100A4 knockout mice, but the mechanism is unclear.
Methods: The protein PPP1CA, which interacts with S100A4, was detected by immunoprecipitation-mass spectrometry of overexpression and knockdown of S100A4 and PPP1CA.
