Time series of graphs are increasingly prevalent in modern data and pose unique challenges to visual exploration and pattern extraction. This paper describes the development and application of matrix factorizations for exploration and time-varying community detection in time-evolving graph sequences. The matrix factorization model allows the user to home in on and display interesting, underlying structure and its evolution over time. The methods are scalable to weighted networks with a large number of time points or nodes and can accommodate sudden changes to graph topology. Our techniques are demonstrated with several dynamic graph series from both synthetic and real-world data, including citation and trade networks. These examples illustrate how users can steer the techniques and combine them with existing methods to discover and display meaningful patterns in sizable graphs over many time points.

Background: Lung adenocarcinoma is one of the most common malignant tumors worldwide. Its complex molecular mechanisms and high tumor heterogeneity pose significant challenges for clinical treatment. The manganese ion metabolism family plays a crucial role in various biological processes, and the abnormal expression of the NUDT3 gene in multiple cancers has drawn considerable attention.

Existing methods for imaging through scattering media prioritize grayscale and often falter in resolving multispectral speckles, leading to inadequate spectral recovery. We propose a method that establishes a spectral component separation model for high-quality multispectral imaging through scattering media and around corners. By leveraging the uncorrelation among speckles of different wavelengths and the superposition essence of multispectral speckles, a multispectral speckle simplex with speckles of different wavelengths as vertices is constructed.

The ecology of watersheds plays an important role in regulating regional climate and human activities. The sediment-soil system in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River Basin (Henan section) was explored. The spatial distribution characteristics of heavy metals (HMs) showed that tributaries, which are affected by anthropogenic activities, contain higher concentrations of HMs than the main channel.

Two-dimensional Monte Carlo simulation coupled with multilinear regression modeling of source-specific health risks from groundwater.

University of Belgrade, Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, Karnegijeva 4, Belgrade 11120, Serbia. Electronic address:

Effective protection of groundwater requires an accurate health risk assessment of contaminants; however, the diversity of pollution sources, variability, and uncertainties in exposure parameters present significant challenges in this assessment. In this study, groundwater risk estimates associated with NO, and F, along with fourteen heavy metal(loid)s (V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, As, Co, Cd, Se, Pb, Hg, Zn, and Al) in an agricultural area were optimized by implementing positive matrix factorization (PMF), multilinear regression, and two-dimensional Monte Carlo simulations to characterize source-specific health risks. Groundwater pollution was analyzed considering regional variations, including differences in elevation, land use and land cover, and soil types.

Department of Paramedicine, Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, Monash University, Monash University Building H, Peninsula Campus 47-49 Moorooduc Hwy, Frankston, 3199 , VIC, Australia.

Background: Students must be prepared for the transference of medication administration (pharmacology knowledge and clinical skills) to clinical practice. The Preparedness for Medication Oral Administration questionnaire has been used in several studies and demonstrated strong internal reliability and consistency. The questionnaire has been revised to align with updated medication competencies.
