We report new results on the spectroscopy of the 3 (3)Σ(+) electronic state of (39)K(85)Rb. The observations are based on resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization of ultracold KRb molecules starting in vibrational levels v'' = 18-23 of the a (3)Σ(+) state and ionized via the intermediate 3 (3)Σ(+) state. The a-state ultracold molecules are formed by photoassociation of ultracold (39)K and (85)Rb atoms to the 3(0(+)) state of KRb followed by spontaneous emission. We discuss the potential applications of this state to future experiments, as a pathway for populating the lowest vibrational levels of the a state as well as the X state.

This work describes the development of the first enantioselective addition reaction between 1,3,5,7-tetramethyl-BODIPYs and isatin derivatives. The reaction utilizes bifunctional quinine/squaramide organocatalysts and affords nine novel chiral BODIPY dyes under mild conditions, with enantioselectivities reaching up to 60%. The synthesized BODIPY-oxindoles exhibit high fluorescence emissions, consistent with their parent BODIPYs, and display tunable colors.

Mixed Sn-Pb perovskites are attracting significant attention due to their narrow bandgap and consequent potential for all-perovskite tandem solar cells. However, the conventional hole transport materials can lead to band misalignment or induce degradation at the buried interface of perovskite. Here we designed a self-assembled material 4-(9H-carbozol-9-yl)phenylboronic acid (4PBA) for the surface modification of the substrate as the hole-selective contact.

Background And Objectives: Acoustofluidic manipulation of particles and biological cells has been widely applied in various biomedical and engineering applications, including effective separation of cancer cell, point-of-care diagnosis, and cell patterning for tissue engineering. It is often implemented within a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) microchannel, where standing surface acoustic waves (SSAW) are generated by sending two counter-propagating ultrasonic waves on a piezoelectric substrate.
Methods: In this paper, we develop a full cross-sectional model of the acoustofluidic device using finite element method, simulating the wave excitation on the substrate and wave propagation in both the fluid and the microchannel wall.

The current key issues in applying acoustofluidics in engineering lie in the inflexibility of manufacturing processes, particularly those involving modifications to piezoelectric materials and devices. This leads to inefficient prototyping and potentially high costs. To overcome these limitations, we proposed a technique that is capable of prototyping acoustofluidic devices in a straightforward manner.

Tools to calculate human movement patterns can benefit musculoskeletal clinicians and researchers for rehabilitation assessments. The research objective of this study was to compare two human pose estimation models (HRNet, MediaPipe) against the laboratory marker-based reference standard for joint angles and range of motion (ROM) for several movement parameters. Twenty-two healthy volunteers (Female n = 16, Male n = 6), participated to compare outputs for knee and elbow kinematics.
