Several novel chiral N-heterocyclic carbene and phosphine ligands were prepared from (S)-BINOL. Moreover, their ligated Au complexes were also successfully synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystal diffraction. A weak gold-π interaction between the Au atom and the aromatic ring in these gold complexes was identified. Furthermore, we confirmed the formation of a pair of diastereomeric isomers in NHC gold complexes bearing an axially chiral binaphthyl moiety derived from the hindered rotation around C-C and C-N bonds. In the asymmetric intramolecular hydroamination reaction most of these chiral Au(I) complexes showed good catalytic activities towards olefins tethered with a NHTs functional group to give the corresponding product in moderate yields and up to 29% ee.

Background/objectives: Bone marrow (BM) adipocytes are critical in progressing solid tumor metastases and hematological malignancies across pediatric to aging populations. Single-point biopsies remain the gold standard for monitoring BM diseases, including hematologic malignancies, but are limited in capturing the full complexity of loco-regional and global BM microenvironments. Non-invasive imaging techniques like Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), could offer valuable alternatives for real-time evaluation of BM diseases in both preclinical translational and clinical studies.

Papulonodular mucinosis is a rare dermatological condition characterized by mucin deposition in the dermis, leading to the formation of papules and nodules that can occur with, or antedate, autoimmune connective tissue diseases. This case report presents a 67-year-old female with a chronic history of cutaneous mucinosis, which posed significant diagnostic challenges. Despite various treatments and extensive diagnostic workup, her condition evolved, highlighting the difficulties in diagnosing papulonodular mucinosis, especially in the absence of systemic lupus erythematosus and antinuclear antibody positivity.

Phosphorescent gold(iii) complexes possess long-lived emissive excited states, making them ideal for use as molecular sensors and photosensitizers for organic transformations. Literature reports indicate that gold(iii) emitters exhibit good catalytic activity in homogeneous photochemical reactions. Heterogeneous metal-organic framework (MOF)-supported gold(iii) photocatalysts are considered to show high recyclability in photochemical reactions and potentially provide new selectivities.

In this study, we demonstrate the formation of a self-assembled microgel double layer on an electrode surface, utilizing the ability to form electro-responsive, reversible inclusion complexes between microgels modified with ferrocene and β-cyclodextrin in these systems. The bottom layer was based on microgels containing ferrocene moieties and derivatives of cysteine. The presence of the amino acid derivative enabled the formation of the well-packed monolayer on the gold surface through chemisorption, while ferrocene was responsible for electroactivity.

Background: Glioma accounts for 80 % of all malignant primary brain tumors with a high mortality rate. Histopathological examination is the current diagnostic methods for glioma, but its invasive surgical interventions can cause cerebral edema or impair neural functioning. Liquid biopsy proves to be an efficient method for glioma detection.
