Carbon monoxide (CO) intoxication is one of the most common types of poisoning. Cardiac manifestations of CO poisoning are limited to case reports of Electrocardiogram (ECG) changes, myocardial dysfunction and myocardial ischemia. A 22 year old Saudi male was admitted to the emergency department with decreased level of consciousness after being involved in a fire at home. ECG showed first degree AV block. To the best of our knowledge, this case report is the first CO poisoning case in the literature presented with first degree AV block.

Objective: Interleukin-17 E (IL-17E) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that participates in the inflammatory response and tumorigenesis. However, the function of IL-17E in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remains largely unknown.
Methods: The clinical value of IL-17E was determined by immunohistochemistry (IHC) in 75 cases of NSCLC tissues.

Regional anesthesia is a popular method for surgical anesthesia in clavicular surgery. Selective blocking of the cervical 3, 4, and 5 nerve roots shows promise in clavicle surgery, with its fast onset, good anesthesia and less complications, necessitating evaluation of its impact on diaphragmatic function. To prepare amphiphilic diblock copolymers (MP), a controlled radical polymerization approach was employed, incorporating hydrophilic poly(2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl phosphorylcholine) (PMPC) with hydrophobic poly(3-methoxypropyl acrylate) (PMPA). The synthesized diblock copolymers feature a PMPC block with a degree of polymerization (DP) of 100 and a PMPA block with DP (=) values of 171 and 552. The hydrophilic PMPC block exhibits biocompatibility, such as inhibition of platelet and protein adsorption, because of its hydrophilic pendant zwitterionic phosphorylcholine groups that have the same chemical structure as cell membrane surfaces.
