Unlabelled: is a protozoan parasite that causes human and animal African trypanosomiases (HAT and AAT). Cardiac symptoms are commonly reported in HAT patients, and intracardiac parasites with accompanying myocarditis have been observed in both natural hosts and animal models of infection. Despite the importance of as a cause of cardiac dysfunction and the dramatic socioeconomic impact of African trypanosomiases in sub-Saharan Africa, there are currently no reproducible murine models of associated cardiomyopathy.

In this study, we used an in vivo swine model (10 healthy and 5 with chronic myocardial infarct) for ventricular PFA, collecting intracardiac electrograms, electro-anatomical maps, native T1-weighted and late gadolinium enhancement MRI, gross pathology, and histology. We used 1000-1500 V pulses, with 1-16 pulse trains to vary PFA dose.

When encountering severe hypoxemia that does not respond to oxygen supplementation, it is essential to consider underlying right-to-left shunting. Among various diagnostic approaches, the microbubble test via transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) is a simple, noninvasive method for detecting pulmonary arteriovenous shunts, particularly in hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS). Although microbubbles are usually administered peripherally, using a Swan-Ganz (SG) catheter to inject microbubbles directly into the pulmonary artery may provide even more definitive diagnostic information.

Background: Ventricular arrhythmias commonly originate from the ventricular outflow tract. It remains unexplored whether pulsed field ablation (PFA) can create durable lesions safely at the ventricular outflow tract.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility and safety of a novel PFA catheter to deliver focal ablation to the ventricular outflow tract, especially pulmonary and aortic sinus cusps (PSCs and ASCs).
