A high quality crystalline porous coordination polymer (PCP), Fe(OH)(1,4-NDC)·2H2O (1,4-NDC = 1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylate), was successfully prepared using a rapid and efficient microwave irradiation method (hereafter termed M-PCP-Fe). It was noteworthy that the microwave irradiation method reduced the reaction time considerably to 1 min, while it took three days for the conventional hydrothermal method to prepare non-uniform crystal morphologies in a one-pot manner (hereafter termed H-PCP-Fe). The effects of microwave irradiation time, temperature and concentration were also investigated. According to the CO2 adsorption isotherms, it was found that M-PCP-Fe had a better performance on CO2 adsorption than H-PCP-Fe under the same conditions. This approach is expected to be widely used in large scale production of PCPs.

Hibernating mammals such as the thirteen-lined ground squirrel () experience significant reductions in oxidative metabolism and body temperature when entering a state known as torpor. Animals entering or exiting torpor do not experience permanent loss of brain function or other injuries, and the processes that enable such neuroprotection are not well understood. To gain insight into changes in protein function that occur in the dramatically different physiological states of hibernation, we performed quantitative phosphoproteomics experiments on thirteen-lined ground squirrels that are summer-active, winter-torpid, and spring-active.

Background: Data on overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) after microwave ablation (MWA) for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) are scarce. We conducted a systematic review of the safety and efficacy of MWA for ICC.
Methods: The PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases were searched for studies reporting the outcomes of MWA for ICC.

A microwave-strengthened supramolecular adhesive by introducing maleic acid amide bonds into the cross-linked networks of catechol-based monomers and iron oxide nanoparticles is reported. Under microwave irradiation, the supramolecular adhesive can be rapidly heated up, causing the transformation from maleic acid amide bonds to maleimide bonds and thus the increase of its cohesive strength. The supramolecular adhesive can flexibly bond substrates like pressure sensitive adhesives during the bonding procedure and shows an adhesion strength of 0.

The application of micro-nano size photovoltaic waste silicon (wSi) as an anode material for lithium-ion battery holds significant practical potential; However, it faces a series of challenges related to the volume expansion of Si during cycling. In this study, a simple, efficient, and eco-friendly microwave method is proposed for the rapid preparation of graphene-coated silicon materials (wSi@rGO) in just a few seconds, in which graphene as the stable interface mitigates structural failure caused by significant volume expansion, enhances electron and ion conductivity, inhibits undesirable side reactions between silicon and electrolyte, and promotes the stability of solid electrolyte interface (SEI). Importantly, the instantaneous high temperature generated by microwaves facilitates the formation of interfacial SiC chemical bonds, which strengthen the interaction between Si and graphene, thereby reducing Si delamination.

Based on the application demand of metal-organic framework (MOFs) materials in environmental science, energy conversion, biomedicine and other fields, its efficient synthesis method has attracted much attention. Microwave method has become one of the most competitive and potential methods because of its low cost, high efficiency and green environmental protection. However, the traditional microwave assisted synthesis of MOFs materials mostly uses microwave oven as the reaction chamber, or small-scale microwave reactor.
