Erlotinib, an epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI), is currently used in the therapy of several solid malignancies. This agent has been associated with several dermatological side-effects, the most common being papulo-pustular acneiform rash. Herein we describe a unique skin effect in a patient treated with erlotinib for non-small cell lung cancer.

Hypothesis: After the expansion of high deductibles, patients will delay cochlear implant (CI) surgery to the end of the year, and the risk of postoperative known risks will increase.
Background: The Affordable Care Act was associated with increased enrollment in high-deductible health plans (HDHPs), which resulted in rising health insurance deductibles. Health insurance plans can cover a patient's cost of healthcare once the deductible is met.
Objective: Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models can potentially aid in pre-operative planning of transarterial radioactive microparticle injections to treat hepatocellular carcinoma, but these models are computationally very costly. Previously, we introduced the hybrid particle-flow model as a surrogate, less costly modelling approach for the full particle distribution in truncated hepatic arterial trees. We hypothesized that higher cross-sectional particle spread could increase the match between flow and particle distribution.

Introduction: Patient-specific instruments (PSI) have been shown to be a good solution in getting accurate bone cuts in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in many studies. However, the need for an extra CT/MRI makes the existing PSI method costly and unsafe. X-ray-based PSI can solve these problems, if proven to be accurate.
