Many phenomena occurring in strongly correlated quantum systems still await conclusive explanations. The absence of isolated free quarks in nature is an example. It is attributed to quark confinement, whose origin is not yet understood. The phase diagram for nuclear matter at general temperatures and densities, studied in heavy-ion collisions, is not settled. Finally, we have no definitive theory of high-temperature superconductivity. Though we have theories that could underlie such physics, we lack the tools to determine the experimental consequences of these theories. Quantum simulators may provide such tools. Here we show how to engineer quantum simulators of non-Abelian lattice gauge theories. The systems we consider have several applications: they can be used to mimic quark confinement or to study dimer and valence-bond states (which may be relevant for high-temperature superconductors).

Higher Structure of Chiral Symmetry.

A recent development in our understanding of the theory of quantum fields is the fact that familiar gauge theories in spacetime dimensions greater than two can have non-invertible symmetries generated by topological defects. The hallmark of these non-invertible symmetries is that the fusion rule deviates from the usual group-like structure, and in particular the fusion coefficients take values in topological field theories (TFTs) rather than in mere numbers. In this paper we begin an exploration of the associativity structure of non-invertible symmetries in higher dimensions.

Background: Medical Kitchen is an innovative transdisciplinary simulation aimed at helping 2nd-year medical students at Imperial College London transition from declarative to procedural knowledge acquisition and prepare them for learning clinical skills, grounded in established psychomotor skills development theories, including Kovacs' definitions and the Fitts and Posner's model.

Approach: It employs a transdisciplinary simulation approach that blends professional gastronomy with medical training. Designed initially in response to the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, the course offers a scalable and replicable model that includes mechanisms for peer feedback and reflective exercises.

The duality between color and kinematics brings many simplifications to the construction of scattering amplitudes. Here, we show that satisfaction of the tree-level Bern-Carrasco-Johansson relations can dramatically simplify loop computations even when the loop-level relations are not explicitly satisfied. We introduce an agglomerative algorithm, color-dual cut tiling, that builds the entire integrand from the simplest on-shell conditions applied to a seed of off-shell integrand information.

The subtraction function plays a pivotal role in calculations involving the forward Compton amplitude, which is crucial for predicting the Lamb shift in muonic atoms, as well as the proton-neutron mass difference. In this Letter, we present a lattice QCD calculation of the subtraction function using two domain wall fermion gauge ensembles near the physical pion mass. We utilize a recently proposed subtraction point, demonstrating its advantage in mitigating statistical and systematic uncertainties by eliminating the need for ground-state subtraction.

27Al NMR spectroscopic and DFT computational study of the quadrupole coupling of aluminum in two polymorphs of the complex aluminum hydride CsAlH4.

The quadrupole coupling constant CQ and the asymmetry parameter η of the aluminum nuclei in two polymorphs of the complex aluminum hydride CsAlH4 are determined from both 27Al magic-angle spinning (MAS) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra and 27Al NMR spectra recorded for stationary samples by using the Solomon echo sequence. The accuracy with which these parameters can be determined from the static spectra [CsAlH4(o): CQ = (1.42 ± 0.
