In hemimegalencephaly, MR imaging often reveals mid-sagittal band-like structures between the lateral ventricles. We describe the clinical presentation, morphologic abnormalities, conventional MR imaging, diffusion tensor MR and fiber tract (FT) reconstruction in a 14-year-old boy with unilateral hemimegalencephaly. We retrospectively examined MR images to determine whether these structures are aberrant mid-sagittal fibers.

Objective: Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder whose etiology remains unclear. Although numerous studies have analyzed the abnormal gray matter functional activity and whole-brain anatomical changes in schizophrenia, fMRI signal fluctuations from white matter have usually been ignored and rarely reported in the literature.
Methods: We employed 45 schizophrenia subjects and 75 healthy controls (HCs) from a publicly available fMRI dataset.

Objective: The aim of this retrospective study was to describe the sonographic appearance of the posterior brain anatomy in normal fetuses at 11 to 14 weeks of pregnancy and to determine the fetal outcome when one of the posterior brain anatomical space is not recognized.
Methods: Two groups of patients were included in the study: a control group of consecutive 311 healthy fetuses with a normal sonogram and a study group of 21 fetuses with absence of one of the three posterior brain spaces. In each fetus, images of the mid-sagittal view of the fetal face and brain at 11 to 14 weeks of gestation were obtained.

The corpus callosum (CC), the largest inter-hemispheric tract connecting the association cortices, has been shown to be affected in disorders with aberrant neurodevelopment. Previous studies that investigated CC abnormalities in schizophrenia have reported mixed findings potentially due to various confounding factors. In this study, we used magnetic resonance imaging to examine a large sample of antipsychotic-naïve schizophrenia patients (n=66) in comparison with age-, sex-, and handedness-matched (as a group) healthy comparison subjects (n=46).
