Although mixing and matching components is a common, safe, and well-documented practice in hip revision surgery, our extensive search indicates that it has not been previously reported for shoulder arthroplasty. This case report presents the use of mixed implants in shoulder revision surgery to reduce morbidity and address flaws in the initial implant design. We describe a case of a patient with multiple epiphyseal dysplasia who was treated for osteoarthritis in his left shoulder with an anatomic shoulder replacement in 2014.

Polyethylene liner exchange and bone grafting is an effective surgical option for the management of periacetabular osteolysis following total hip arthroplasty with well-fixed cups and intact liner locking mechanisms. We aimed to evaluate the revision-free survivorship and radiographic lesion progression after polyethylene liner exchange and bone grafting is performed for periacetabular osteolysis. A systematic review of the literature was performed.

Unlabelled: Metaphyseal cones are frequently used in revision total knee arthroplasties (TKAs). However, during subsequent aseptic re-revisions, removing a well-fixed cone can be difficult. One innovative option is to retain the well-fixed cone and cement a new, stemmed revision component through the retained cone, yet minimal data exist on this technique.

Aiming at numerous defects at SnO/perovskite interface and lattice mismatch in perovskite solar cells (PSCs), we design a kind of three-dimensional (3D) molecular glue (KBF-TFMSA), which is derived from strong intramolecular hydrogen bonding interaction between potassium tetrafluoroborate (KBF) and trifluoromethane-sulfonamide (TFMSA). A remarkable efficiency of 25.8 % with negligible hysteresis and a stabilized power output of 25.

Aims: In metal-on-metal (MoM) hip arthroplasties and resurfacings, mechanically induced corrosion can lead to elevated serum metal ions, a local inflammatory response, and formation of pseudotumours, ultimately requiring revision. The size and diametral clearance of anatomical (ADM) and modular (MDM) dual-mobility polyethylene bearings match those of Birmingham hip MoM components. If the acetabular component is satisfactorily positioned, well integrated into the bone, and has no surface damage, this presents the opportunity for revision with exchange of the metal head for ADM/MDM polyethylene bearings without removal of the acetabular component.
