NanoBuds exist in a variety of stable structures. Our studies show that engineering NanoBud geometries is indeed possible and we visualise the transformation of one Nanobud geometry to another using in situ aberration corrected imaging techniques. Such NanoBuds are precursors for generating nanotube junctions which could be used in composite and electronic applications.

Water splitting provides an environmental-friendly and sustainable approach for generating hydrogen fuel. The inherent energetic barrier in two-core half reactions such as the Hydrogen Evolution Reaction (HER) and Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) leads to undesired increased overpotential and constrained reaction kinetics. These challenges pose significant challenges that demand innovative solutions to overcome.

Structural parameters, such as metal-like semiconductor and electrochemical properties of functionalized polyaniline, hold great potential especially for the development of the cell-substrate interface due to its ion/electron transfer ability. We report the one-step synthesis of sulfonic acid-doped polyaniline nanobuds (s-PANINbs) with controlled shape/size under various oxidation potentials. The different oxidation states of s-PANINbs are used to investigate the cell-specific platform for the induction of neuronal networks in PC12 cells, including the growth, proliferation, and differentiation of cells.

Trace determination of radioactive waste, especially Ce, by electrochemical methods has rarely been attempted. Ce is (i) a fluorescence quencher, (ii) an antiferromagnet, and (iii) a superconductor, and it has been incorporated into fast scintillators, LED phosphors, and fluorescent lamps. Although Ce has been utilized in many industries due to its specific properties, it causes severe health problems to human beings because of its toxicity.

Although the properties of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are very well-known and are still extensively studied, a thorough understanding of other carbon-based nanomaterials such as CN nanotubes (CNNTs) is still missing. In this article, we used molecular dynamics simulation to investigate the effects of parameters such as chirality, diameter, number of walls, and temperature on the mechanical properties of CN nanotubes, CN nanobuds, and CNNTs with various kinds of defects. We also modeled and tested the corresponding CNTs to validate the results and understand how replacing one C atom of CNT by one N atom affects the properties.
