Objective: To study the chemical constituents of the dichloromethane extract from pine needles of Cedrus deodara.
Methods: The chemical constituents were isolated and purified from the dichloromethane extract of pine needles by chromatography on silica gel and Sephadex LH-20. Their structures were elucidated by analysis of spectral data and chemical properties.
Results: Seven compounds were isolated and their chemical structures were identified as ferulic acid (1), osthole (2), beta-phenylacrylic acid (3), paeonol (4), beta-sitosterol (5), magnolol (6) and honokiol (7).
Conclusion: Compounds 1 - 4, 6 and 7 are isolated from this plant for the first time.

Plants constitute a source of natural phytochemical components which are widely known for their potential biological activities. This work concerned a study of the antioxidant, anticancer and anti-inflammatory activities of squirting cucumber (Ecballium elaterium L.) parts (flowers, fruits, leaves and stems) using different solvent extracts (cyclohexane, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, methanol and water).

belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae and is widely distributed in northern Xinjiang, making it a characteristic plant of the region in Xinjiang, China. The chemical composition and biological activity of have not yet been reported, although certain compounds isolated from plants in Xinjiang, China, have demonstrated exceptional multidrug resistance (MDR) reversal. This study aims to investigate the chemical components present in with the potential to reverse MDR.

Strawberries are rich in unique aroma substances, which include bound and free aroma compounds. Unlike the free aroma, the appropriate extraction and analytical methods for bound aroma compounds in strawberries remain unclear. In the present study, we compared three extraction methods for bound aroma compounds of strawberries and performed the single factor experiment for optimizing the hydrolysis method, process parameters, and response surface analysis.
