The regional fine structure of the epithelium lining the epididymis of the rhesus monkey has been investigated. Tall, prismatic principal cells constituted the major part of the epithelium. Their basal plasma lemma showed presence of caveolae and the luminal surface was studded with stereocilis. Presence of numerous desmosomes and tight junctions between adjacent principal cells suggested the existence of blood epididymis barrier. Ultrastructural evidence is presented in support of high lysosomal turnover, absorptive and secretory functions in these cells. Apocrine secretion was evident only in the principal cells of initial segment. Of the two types of basal cell, dark and pale, the latter revealed presence of lipofuscin pigment suggesting their scavenger role in the epithelium.

The role of cerebellum in controlling eye movements is well established, but its contribution to more complex forms of visual behavior has remained elusive. To study cerebellar activity during visual attention we recorded extracellular activity of dentate nucleus (DN) neurons in two non-human primates (NHPs). NHPs were trained to read the direction indicated by a peripheral visual stimulus while maintaining fixation at the center, and report the direction of the cue by performing a saccadic eye movement into the same direction following a delay.

The incidence of brain metastases (BrM) in patients with metastatic melanoma is reported to be 30-50% and constitutes the third most frequent BrM after breast and renal cancers. Treatment strategies including surgical resection, stereotactic radiation, and immunotherapy have improved clinical response rates and overall survival, but the changes that occur in circulating melanoma cells to promote invasion of the brain are not fully understood. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common type of lymphoma in adults, which characterized by a high degree of heterogeneity in terms of clinical presentation, molecular phenotype, and genetic features. However, approximately 30 %-40 % of patients are refractory to standard chemotherapy, and their prognosis is poor. The emergence of small-molecule inhibitors, such as Bruton's tyrosine kinase inhibitors (BTKi), has greatly improved the treatment of DLBCL; however, drug resistance associated with small-molecule inhibitors has greatly limited their clinical application.
