In the title compound, [Pd(C11H13N3O2S)(C18H15P)]·C2H5OH, the Pd(II) atom is tetra-coordinated in a slightly distorted square-planar environment by three donor atoms (NOS) from a thio-semicarbazonate ligand, forming five- and six-membered chelate rings, and a P atom from a neutral tri-phenyl-phosphane group. The five-membered ring adopts a distorted envelope conformation with Pd(II) as the flap atom, while the six-membered ring forms a slightly twisted screw-boat conformation. A slightly distorted screw-boat form of a meth-oxy-phenyl group is fused to the six-membered ring. Weak C-H⋯O inter-actions form dimers in the asymmetric unit and along [001] which help to stabilize the crystal packing.

The multi-component ring-opening reactions of cyclic ethers offer an efficient strategy for the rapid introduction of multiple functional groups and the construction of complex molecular architectures. Despite the minimal ring strain in five- and six-membered rings presenting a significant challenge for ring-opening, advancements have been made. Traditional acid-catalyzed pathways have been complemented by a novel approach involving carbene-induced oxonium intermediate formation, which has emerged in recent years and expanded the selectivity of ring-opening reactions.

Herein, we report an electricity-driven activation of aziridine via direct anodic oxidation to give -heterocycles and 1,2-bifunctionalized products by excluding any oxidant/reductant or metal catalyst. Many structurally modified aziridines were employed in the presence of different nitriles. A large variety of nucleophiles were screened to furnish chemoselectively O-alkylated and C-alkylated products.

Aminobenzoic Acid Covalently Modified Polyoxotungstates Based on {XW} Clusters with Proton Conductivity Property.

Inorg Chem

January 2025

Henan Key Laboratory of Polyoxometalate Chemistry, College of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences, Henan University, Kaifeng, Henan 475004, P. R. China.

Three cases of aminobenzoic acid hybrid polyoxotungstates, Na(HO)[(HPWO) (OCCHNH)]·7HO (), K(HO)[(AsWO)(OCCHNH)]·4HO (), and [(HN(CH)]Na(HO)[(SbWO) (OCCHNH)]·7HO (), were successfully synthesized. This is the first report of the successful assembly of the hexanuclear {XW} (X = HP, As, or Sb) clusters and organic carboxylic acid (para aminobenzoic acid) ligands. All three hybrids feature a common {XW} unit composed of a six-membered {WO} octahedral ring capped by one {XO} trigonal pyramid.

Pyrimidines are aromatic, heterocyclic organic compounds characterized by a six-membered ring that contains four carbon atoms and two nitrogen atoms. They have been reported to exhibit a variety of biological activities such as antifungal, antiviral, and anti-Parkinsonian effects. Recently, there has been an increased focus on their potential anti-Alzheimer's properties.

Zwitterionic polymers have garnered significant attention for their distinctive properties, such as biocompatibility, antifouling capabilities, and resistance to protein adsorption, making them promising candidates for a wide range of applications, including drug delivery, oil production inhibitors, and water purification membranes. This study reports the synthesis and characterization of zwitterionic monomers and polymers through the modification of linear, vinyl, and aromatic heterocyclic functional groups via reaction with 1,3-propanesultone. Four zwitterionic polymers with varying molecular structures-ranging from linear to five and six membered ring systems-were synthesized: poly(sulfobetaine methacrylamide) (pSBMAm), poly(sulfobetaine-1-vinylimidazole) (pSB1VI), poly(sulfobetaine-2-vinylpyridine) (pSB2VP), and poly(sulfobetaine-4-vinylpyridine) (pSB4VP).
