Bi+ men are more likely to use alcohol and drugs than heterosexual and often gay men. The minority stress model is the predominant framework for understanding these disparities, but it is unknown whether this framework is consistent with bi+ men's perspectives. As part of an online survey, 69 bi+ young men (ages 18-29; 29% transgender) were asked why they think bisexual men are more likely to use alcohol and drugs than other men (including gay men).

Methods: The Web of Science, PubMed, and Scopus databases were searched for relevant English reports published from 2000 to August 2024. After full-text screening and checking the quality assessment of each article using the JBI checklist, 9 relevant articles were included in this study.

Sexualised drug use (SDU) is a highly prevalent phenomenon of increasing public health significance in communities of men who have sex with men (MSM). This prospectively registered PRISMA-ScR-adherent systematic scoping review examines the current state of knowledge surrounding violence amongst MSM in the context of SDU.
