Cyclin D genes regulate the cell cycle, growth and differentiation in response to intercellular signaling. While the promoters of vertebrate cyclin D genes have been analyzed, the cis-regulatory sequences across an entire cyclin D locus have not. Doing so would increase understanding of how cyclin D genes respond to the regulatory states established by developmental gene regulatory networks, linking cell cycle and growth control to the ontogenetic program. Therefore, we conducted a cis-regulatory analysis on the cyclin D gene, SpcycD, of the sea urchin, Strongylocentrotus purpuratus, during embryogenesis, identifying upstream and intronic sequences, located within six defined regions bearing one or more cis-regulatory modules each.

Retinoic acid signaling pathway plays a role in regulating vertebrate development, cell differentiation, and homeostasis. As a key enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of retinal to retinoic acid, aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 family member A2 (Aldh1a2) is involved in cardiac development, while whether it functions in heart diseases remains to be studied. In this study, we infected primary cardiomyocytes with adenovirus overexpressing (Ad-Aldh1a2) to explore the effects of overexpression on the biological function of cardiomyocytes.

Objective: DNA methylation, as an epigenetic alteration, plays an essential role in the development of atherosclerosis and venous thrombosis. E-cadherin, a tumor suppressor gene and adhesion molecule, has a crucial function in platelet aggregation and hemostasis. P16, a cell cycle regulator, is involved in venous thrombosis.

Cuproptosis is crucial in the development of various liver diseases, yet its involvement in alcoholic liver disease (ALD) remains poorly understood. In this study, we screened cuproptosis-related genes (CRGs) regulating ALD and explored their potential molecular mechanisms. Bioinformatic methods were employed to screen CRGs in ALD, analyze their functional enrichment, signaling pathways, transcriptional regulation, relationship with the immune microenvironment and pathogenic genes, and corresponding single nucleotide polymorphism pathogenic regions, and construct transcription factor-miRNA-mRNA networks.
