Neurological disorders are possibly the most prevalent and have been identified to occur among individuals with autism beyond chance. These disorders encompass a diverse range of consequences with neurological causes and have been regarded as a major threat to public mental health. There is no tried-and-true approach for completely protecting the nervous system.

Objective: To evaluate rates of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) diagnosis among pediatric patients with normal hearing (NH) and hearing loss (HL) with and without comorbidities.
Study Design: Retrospective cohort study of NH and HL patients following chart review of all pediatric patients with a history of tympanostomy tube placement treated at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation between 2019 and 2022.
Methods: Patient demographic information, hearing status (type of HL, laterality, severity), and comorbidities including prematurity, genetic syndromes, disorders with neurological impairment, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) were collected.

Background: Studies on structured skills training groups have indicated beneficial, although still inconclusive, effects on core symptoms of ADHD in adults. This trial examined effects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy-based group treatment (DBT-bGT) on the broader and clinically relevant executive functioning and emotional regulation in adults with ADHD.
Methods: In a multicenter randomized controlled trial, adult patients with ADHD were randomly assigned to receive either weekly DBT-bGT or treatment as usual (TAU) during 14 weeks.

Motor coordination abilities are related to cognitive abilities and academic achievement in children with neurodevelopmental disorders. However, the similarities and differences of these relationships in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD) have not been explored. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between motor coordination abilities, cognitive abilities, and academic achievement in Japanese children with ASD and AD/HD.

This study investigated the relationship between sleep, gastrointestinal symptoms, challenging behavior, adaptive behavior, and quality of life between children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), with and without attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD) symptoms. Parents of 118 children and adolescents with ASD completed the Conners Early Childhood Rating Scale-Parent Short Form or the Conners 3-Parent Short Form, Children's Sleep Habits Questionnaire, Gastrointestinal Symptom Inventory, Behavior Problems Inventory-Short Form, Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory and the Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales, Second Edition. The ASD group and the ASD with AD/HD groups differed significantly in sleep problems, gastrointestinal symptoms, and quality of life.
