Published: December 2013

The synthesis of C3-symmetrical tris-(ACE)-(6,6'-bis-heterocyclyl)-α-cyclodextrins via"one pot" Staudinger-Aza-Wittig (SAW) reaction is described. The spectroscopic properties of their metal coordination compounds were analysed. The spontaneous formation of metallosupramolecular helicates generate strong exciton coupling features enlighten much information on the nature, the geometries of the complexes and their absolute configuration.

Formation of Nanowindow between Graphene Oxide and Carbon Nanohorn Assisted by Metal Ions.

This study presents a novel nanostructured material formed by inserting oxidized carbon nanohorns (CNHox) between layered graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets using metal ions (M) from nitrate as intermediates. The resulting GO-CNHox-M structure effectively mitigated interlayer aggregation of the GO nanosheets. This insertion strategy promoted the formation of nanowindows on the surface of the GO sheets and larger mesopores between the GO nanosheets, improving material porosity.

Universidad Complutense de Madrid Facultad de Ciencias Quimicas, Inorganic Chemistry Department, 28034, Madrid, SPAIN.

Achieving high battery performance from low-cost, easily synthesisable electrode materials is crucial for advancing energy storage technologies. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) combining inexpensive transition metals and organic ligands are promising candidates for high-capacity cathodes. Iron-chloranilate-water frameworks are herein reported to be produced in aqueous media under mild conditions.

Biological neural systems seamlessly integrate perception and action, a feat not efficiently replicated in current physically separated designs of neural-imitating electronics. This segregation hinders coordination and functionality within the neuromorphic system. Here, we present a flexible device tailored for neuromorphic computation and muscle actuation.

Non-metallic iodine single-atom catalysts with optimized electronic structures for efficient Fenton-like reactions.

State Environmental Protection Key Laboratory of Environmental Health Impact Assessment of Emerging Contaminants, School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, P.R. China.

In this study, we introduce a highly effective non-metallic iodine single-atom catalyst (SAC), referred to as I-NC, which is strategically confined within a nitrogen-doped carbon (NC) scaffold. This configuration features a distinctive C-I coordination that optimizes the electronic structure of the nitrogen-adjacent carbon sites. As a result, this arrangement enhances electron transfer from peroxymonosulfate (PMS) to the active sites, particularly the electron-deficient carbon.

The regulation of artificial interphase for advanced Zn anode is an effective solution to achieve superior electrochemical performance for aqueous batteries. However, the deployment of atomically precise architectures and ligand engineering to achieve functionalization-oriented regulatory screening is lacking, which is hindered by higher requirements for synthetic chemistry and structural chemistry. Herein, we have first performed ligand engineering which selected zinc ion trapping ligands (-CH3) based on the coordination effect, and zinc substrate binding ligands (-N=N-xC6H5) based on the electrostatic interaction.
