Colonic atresia (CA) is a rare disease with an incidence range between one of 20 000 and one of 66 000 live births. Most CA are located within the proximal colon; distal CA are even rarer. Because of its rarity, another case shall be described herewith.

Bone cements for treatment of fractures at weight-bearing sites are subjected to dynamic physiological loading from daily activities. An ideal bone cement rapidly sets after injection, exhibits bone-like strength, stimulates osteogenic differentiation of endogenous cells, and resorbs at a rate aligned with patient biology. However, currently available materials fall short of these targeted properties.

We report a case of endovascular recanalization of complete thrombotic occlusion of the inferior vena cava (IVC) and bilateral iliac veins using the architectural knowledge of the in situ permanent IVC filter in a 23-year-old male. The infrarenal permanent IVC filter was TRAPEASE permanent vena cava filter (Cordis) placed at an outstation hospital for pulmonary embolism. Being permanent variant of filter, percutaneous removal was not possible.
