The prerequisite to monitor gene expression is the selection of reference genes for normalization of RT-qPCR results. Using 13 sputum samples collected from 9 CF patients, we demonstrated that PA2875 and PA3340 are better reference genes than the previously used clpX and oprL genes.

Background: The photothermal sensitivity of tobacco refers to how tobacco plants respond to variations in the photothermal conditions of their growth environment. The degree of this sensitivity is crucial for determining the optimal planting regions for specific varieties, as well as for improving the quality and yield of tobacco leaves. However, the precise mechanisms underlying the development of photothermal sensitivity in tobacco remain unclear.

BrCYP71 encoding multifunctional oxidase was mapped using BSA-Seq and linkage analysis, and its function in stay-green of pak choi was verified through Arabidopsis heterologous transgenic experiment. Stay-green refers to the phenomenon that plant leaves remain green during senescence and even after death, which is of great significance for improving the commerciality of leafy vegetables during storage or transportation and extending their shelf life. In this study, we identified a stay-green mutant of pak choi and named it nye2.

The rapid development of therapies for severe and rare genetic conditions underlines the need to incorporate first-tier genetic testing into newborn screening (NBS) programs. A workflow was developed to screen newborns for 165 treatable pediatric disorders by deep sequencing of regions of interest in 405 genes. The prospective observational BabyDetect pilot project was launched in September 2022 in a maternity ward of a public hospital in the Liege area, Belgium.

Premature Ovarian Insufficiency refers to the premature decline in ovarian function before the age of 40, resulting in menstrual irregularities or complete cessation of menstruation, and affecting fertility. Widely used bisphenol compounds may have potential health effects, including premature ovarian insufficiency (POI). This study employs computational biology and bioinformatics to investigate the effects of bisphenols (BPs) on POI.
