In this introduction to the Special Section on Openness to Experience, we review the historical background of the construct and its measurement. We also provide a meta-analytically based review of its broader nomological net. Specifically, we review relationships with other individual differences constructs, including personality traits, interests, and cognitive ability. We highlight the various roles that openness and intellect play in educational performance, occupational attitudes and behaviors, job performance, career success, and psychological health and well-being. In doing so, we emphasize the unique contributions of the articles published in this special section (Albrecht, Dilchert, Deller, & Paulus; Connelly, Ones, Davies, & Birkland; DeYoung, Quilty, Peterson, & Gray; Roets, Cornelis, & Van Hiel; Woo, Chernyshenko, Longley, Zhang, Chiu, & Stark; Woo, Chernyshenko, Stark, & Conz). Finally, we note fruitful venues for future research involving Openness constructs.

Background: Research suggest that personality traits influence the mood and somatic symptoms in various different clinical populations. Neuroticism, extraversion, conscientiousness, openness to experience, and agreeableness have been identified as potential predictors of mood and somatic symptoms. Reward sensitivity has a partial genetic background, and extreme levels may increase vulnerability to psychopathology. This study explores the genetic factor structure underlying reward-related traits and examines how genetic variance links to psychopathology. We modeled GWAS data from ten reward-related traits: risk tolerance (N = 975,353), extraversion (N = 122,886), sensation seeking (N = 132,395), (lack of) premeditation (N = 132,667), (lack of) perseverance (N = 133,517), positive urgency (N = 132,132), negative urgency (N = 132,559), attentional impulsivity (N = 124,739), motor impulsivity (N = 124,104), and nonplanning impulsivity (N = 123,509) to derive their genetic factor structure.

Data sharing is a cornerstone of modern scientific research, playing a critical role in fostering greater collaboration, enhancing reproducibility, transparency and efficiency of scientific discoveries, and integrating diverse data sources. In circadian rhythm research, data sharing is particularly important due to the complexity and heterogeneity of the data, which includes molecular profiles, physiological measurements, clinical data and sensor-based data. UK research funders, such as Medical Research Council, Wellcome Trust and UK Research and Innovation, have established data-sharing policies to promote open science and enhance research transparency.

Patients And Methods: Materials and Methods: A survey was conducted among 30 doctors and 30 fifth-year master's students enrolled in the "Medicine" program. Participants were asked about their experiences with AI, their perceptions of AI's impact on their education and practice, and their views on the benefits and drawbacks of AI in the medical field.

Background: Preparing novice oncology nurses to competently care for dying cancer patients is challenging, particularly in cultures where death and dying are taboo subjects. This study aims to explore the various profiles of death competence among novice oncology nurses through latent profile analysis, identifies distinguishing characteristics, and examines influential factors within these subgroups.
Methods: A multisite cross-sectional study was conducted from August 2021 to July 2022, involving 506 novice oncology nurses from six tertiary cancer hospitals and centers across mainland China.
