Two new Schiff base ligands 4-[(1E)-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)methylene]amino-1,5-dimethyl-2-phenyl-1,2-dihydro-3H-pyrazol-3-one (1) and 4-[(1E)-(2-hydroxy-5-methoxyphenyl)methylene]amino-1,5-dimethyl-2-phenyl-1,2-dihydro-3H-pyrazol-3-one (2) have been prepared and characterized using elemental analysis, UV-vis, FT-IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallographic technique. Tautomeric equilibria (phenol-imine, O-H...N and keto-amine, O...H-N forms) have been studied by using UV-vis absorption spectra for the compound 2 in some solutions. Crystal structure analyses showed that the title molecules 1 and 2 crystallize in the monoclinic space group P21/c and P21 with the unit cell parameters: a = 12.5665(3) Å and 5.6666(2) Å; b = 10.4791(2) Å and 12.2444(5) Å; c = 14.6240(3) Å and 12.1556(4) Å; V =1820.65(7) Å3 and 826.84(5) Å3; Dx = 1.282 g.cm-3 and 1.355 g.cm-3; and Z = 4 and 2, respectively.

Introduction: Quinazoline holds significant importance in pharmaceutical chemistry, which is included in a range of drugs, clinical contenders, and bioactive compounds. N-contain-ing heterocyclic compounds of quinazoline have a wide and distinct range of biopharmaceutical activities.
Methods: A series of newly synthesized heterocyclic compounds, namely, N-(4-substituted ben-zylidene)-2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl)-6-methylquinazolin-3(4H)-amines (3a'-3e') and N-(4-substi-tuted benzylidene)-2-(2-aminooxazol-4-yl)-6-methylquinazolin-3(4H)-amines (3a-3e), were synthesized starting from 6-methylquinazolin-3(4H)-amine and 4-substituted benzaldehyde and their antibacterial and antifungal properties were evaluated.

Tetrachlorobisphenol A (TCBPA) is a kind of fire retardant extensively used in our life, but it can accumulate in organisms and potentially have toxic effects. Transferrin (TF) is a glycoprotein predominantly present in the blood plasma, serving as an essential mediator for the transportation of iron and other small molecules. In our study, various techniques including multi-spectroscopic and molecular docking were employed to examine the interaction between TCBPA and TF.

Transition metal catalysis is crucial for the synthesis of complex molecules, with ligands and bases playing a pivotal role in optimizing cross-coupling reactions. Despite advancements in ligand design and base selection, achieving effective synergy between these components remains challenging. We present here a general approach to nickel-catalyzed photoredox reactions employing -butylamine as a cost-effective bifunctional additive, acting as the base and ligand.

Maize (Zea mays L.) performs highly efficient C photosynthesis by dividing photosynthetic metabolism between mesophyll and bundle sheath cells. In vivo physiological measurements are indispensable for C photosynthesis research as photosynthetic activities are easily interrupted by leaf section or cell isolation.
