Rearrangements affecting the long arm of chromosome 3 have been linked to abnormalities of platelet production and morphology in hematologic disorders. We present five patients with myelodysplastic syndromes or acute leukemia in whom inv(3)(q21q26) was seen. One of the patients showed an inversion of both homologs involving precisely the same breakpoints, suggesting apparent duplication of the abnormal chromosome 3 and loss of the normal homolog. To our knowledge this is the first report detailing such a condition.

Tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum) is an important crop used for edible food and medicinal usage. Drought annually brings reduction in crop yield and quality, causing enormous economic losses. Transcription factors are often involved in the regulation of plant responses to environmental stresses.

Background: Several meta-analyses have evaluated the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in the treatment of Achilles tendinopathy. Although they generally did not find PRP to be effective, an updated meta-analysis containing all the available, high-quality randomized trial evidence that addresses the methodological shortcomings identified in earlier meta-analyses needs to be performed.
Question/purposes: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy of PRP in improving (1) pain and function as assessed using the Victorian Institute of Sports Assessment-Achilles (VISA-A) score 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year after treatment and (2) VAS pain scores 3 months after treatment in patients with chronic Achilles tendinopathy.

Genome-wide identification and comparative gene-family analyses have commonly been performed to investigate species-specific evolution linked to various traits and molecular pathways. However, most previous studies have been limited to gene screening in a single reference genome, failing to account for the gene presence/absence variations (gPAVs) in a species. Here, we propose an innovative pangenome-based approach for gene-family analyses based on orthologous gene groups (OGGs).

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of protease inclusion level in two different ages on the apparent (AID) and standardized (SID) ileal digestibility of crude protein (CP) and amino acids (AAs) in soybean meal (SBM) fed to growing-finishing pigs. Ten cannulated pigs (21 ± 2 kg) were assigned to experimental diets in a duplicate 5 × 5 Latin square design. In phase I (23 to 30 kg-pigs, 90 ± 17 d of age), ileal digesta was collected in five periods of 7 d (5 d adaptation and 2 d ileal digesta collection).
