The title compound, C16H15ClN2O4, contains a chiral centre and crystallizes as a racemate. The methyl-ene group β-positioned to the carbonyl group is partially (21%) disordered. It flips to the opposite sides of the corresponding six-membered carbocycle by -0.304 (3) and 0.197 (11) Å, producing alternative envelope conformations. The planes of the pyran and chloro-phenyl rings form a dihedral angle of 86.25 (9)°. The mol-ecular structure is characterized by an intra-molecular N-H⋯O inter-action, which generates an S(6) ring motif. The corresponding amino N atom deviates from the plane of the pyran ring by 0.1634 (19) Å. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming C(8) chains running parallel to the b-axis direction. The crystal structure also features C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Five previously unreported 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF) derivatives, including chinenfurfurals A () and B () as 5-HMF-citric acid hybrids and chinenfurfurals C-E (-) as 5-HMF oligomers, as well as four known analogues (-), were isolated from the fruits of a well-known Chinese herbal species . The structures of these furfural compounds were established by detailed analyses of spectroscopic data especially HRMS and NMR, and it is the first report of furfural type constituents from the title species. The anti-inflammatory property of them was further evaluated by testing their inhibition against the production of nitric oxide in lipopolysaccharide-activated murine RAW264.

Purpose: The purpose of this review study is to investigate the effect of curcumin on the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (Akt) signaling pathway in various diseases. Curcumin, the main compound found in turmeric, has attracted a lot of attention for its diverse pharmacological properties. These properties have increased the therapeutic potential of curcumin in chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes, obesity, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, kidney disease, and neurodegenerative diseases.

This study employed machine learning techniques, specifically Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), to analyze 559 articles on biosecurity legislation from 1996 to 2023. The LDA model identified nine key research topics, including Agricultural Management and Production, Biosafety and Environmental Impact, Biological Invasion and Regulation, Biosecurity Legislation and Prevention, Agriculture and Environmental Relations, Virus Infection and Governance, Health Risk Assessment and Detection, Disease Prevention and Biotechnology, and Policy Control and Research. The findings reveal significant trends: an increasing focus on Biosecurity Legislation and Prevention and a declining interest in Agricultural Management and Production.
